Summary: wonderful bag! 2008-09-28
Comment: I've had this bag for about a month and LOVE it. I have a 15.4" hp laptop and though it's snug, it definitely fits. I am a law student and find that it fits my laptop and 2 case books quite tight, but is a wonderful bag to protect my items and get from my apartment to the library to class and back.
The waterproof material is brilliant! It works perfectly and is a very important feature for a laptop bag [especially in stormy New England].
The multiple pockets are wonderful, I really enjoy the handle and the padded strap. It is a perfect bag for what I need. Highly suggest it!

Summary: Well-made bag with plenty of pockets 2008-06-26
Comment: I bought this bag to replace my 12-year old Jansport backpack, which had served me well. I wanted a well-made bag large enough to hold books and/or a laptop for weekend trips but also one that provides enough pockets to separately hold items like a cellphone, water bottle, and digital camera.
The bag has lots of organizational slots: 4 zipped pockets - two interior and two exterior (large and small each), a lined interior pocket for a cellphone, and four exterior pockets. The laptop slot is lined with corduroy but unfortunately, its thickness diminishes the roominess of the slot. According to Timbuk2's specs, the bag can hold a 15" Macbook Pro. My 15.4" Vaio laptop fits in the bag, albeit a little snuggly. (But no way can you get a larger laptop, like a 17" Compaq 8710 in here.)
The little touches, however, are what make this bag great. A padded strap, plus a carry-on handle, and stowaway back straps mean you have versatility as to how you carry the bag. The bottom of the bag is covered n ballistic nylon so you don't have to worry so much about where you place it. And the canvas outer lining seems durable so I expect that this bag will last me as long as my Jansport did.
All-in-all, I'm quite pleased with the purchase and would highly recommend it.
