Summary: Best small compressor I've owned 2008-08-22
Comment: This is a great product. So many of these small compressors feel and look cheap. This feels sturdy and well built, and it's relatively quick and powerful for its small size. Like any small compressor, it has limitations: a maximum 10-minute run time, followed by a 15-minute cool-down period. But you can get a lot accomplished in that 10 minutes. The instructions advise you to use a real tire gauge and not rely on the gauge on the device. That's good advice, as the gauge on the compressor is only approximately accurate. Seems to be about +/- 2 psi on mine. I like that the air hose screws onto the tire valve stem. A lot of small compressors lose their grip when they get old or when they heat up. I've had air hoses pop off the valve when that happens. This avoids that problem. But my favorite thing about this compressor is the noise level. It's much, much quieter than others I've used. Another nice feature is the power plug unscrews to easily change the fuse when necessary. Haven't had to do that yet, but it's nice to know. My one complaint is that the opening in the storage bag could be a little larger. The bag itself is large enough, but the zippered opening is only slightly larger than the compressor itself, so it can take a little tugging and pulling to get the compressor back into the bag. As others have pointed out, make sure your power outlet can handle the 15-amp draw before you buy.

Summary: Good product 2008-08-15
Comment: I wanted to get the Black and Decker one as it has an AC cord, but it was sold out here at the time. So I got this one thinking I could use a 12V transformer in my garage, but it didn't have enough amperage. Anyway, no real problems using the car's cigarette outlet. Overall this is a nice product. I like the carrying case which is just big enough to fit everything. For anyone having problems fitting the unit back into the case, just leave out the cord and fold it in last. The green spiral tube is great and affords nice extension. You'll still have to move the unit from one side of the car to the other via the front doors, but not necessarily to each tire. Still, you'll need to read the gauge. The unit isn't too loud. Takes less than 30 seconds to bring a tire back up to prescribed pressure. The gauge overestimates tire pressure by 8 lbs, according to my motorcycle tire gauge. And just FYI for those living in California, it's law that gas stations give free air. Just go to the operator and tell them to turn it on. Of course, if you want to stick in your 50 cents instead that's fine too.

Summary: Before purchase, check your car socket amps! 2008-08-05
Comment: I'm writing this review because the Amazon description doesn't inform you that you NEED 15 amps to power the device as clearly stated in the owner's manual. Unfortunately, I didn't know this before purchase so when I plugged it into my Honda Pilot which only supplies 10 amps, it didn't work. I called Slime customer service who confirmed that all their products require 15 amps.
Check your car owner's manual to make sure your power socket supplies 15 amps!
I'm giving it 5 stars because the device itself looks very high quality with a nice storage case. Slime customer service was also speedy and helpful. Too bad the Amazon item description was inadequate.

Summary: GOOD PUMP 2008-07-31
Comment: Very quiet. Topped off all four tires quickly. Good quality hose and fittings. Probably the hardest thing is the guage. It goes up to 150 lbs so determining where 35lbs lies on the guage is tricky. I accidentilly inflated one tire to 42 pounds not being able to read the guage accurately.

Summary: WOW!!! 2008-07-23
Comment: What a little power house...airs my 17inch tires in a hurry -- my five gallon air tank for my lawn tractor and trailer (always leaking). The flex hose and quick connect is great -- it has the high quality screw on attachment. I am very pleased
