The XC slides into a 2-inch receiver and carries up to 2 bikes, with an option to carry up to 4 bikes with another module (4 bikes on Class III hitch only). Summary: A rack I would recommend to anyone! 2008-10-06
Comment: I have used the Swagman XC quite a few times already and it has impressed me with its ease of use and storage. When it comes time to mount my bike, it takes seconds instead of minutes. Put the bike in the wheel hoops and slide the frame grip arm down and I'm done! I even attach a lock to the frame grip arm for added security. When I'm done with the rack, the way it comes apart and folds, I store it in the back of my Jeep. I would even recommend this rack to my close friends, that's how much I like it!

Summary: Very good product 2008-09-25
Comment: After reading the favorable reviews of this product on Amazon.com, I ordered this product. It was delivered on time and took all but 15 minutes to assemble and install. We use it transporting two bikes on our Honda Pilot. It is well designed and holds two bikes very securely. There is no movement of the bikes when driving and the vertical member can be rotated into horizontal position when you want open the tail gate. I am very pleased with this product.

Summary: GREAT HITCH RACK!!!! 2008-09-25
Comment: Assembly is easy. Mounting is easy. Used it yesterday and love it! I have three racks and this one is better than some costing 2-3 times more. If you do not like a rack or bike that wobbles while driving this one is for you. It doesn't lock, so I use a cable lock when needed. But it is so fast to mount and remove your bike and NO scratches to your bike makes it an excellent carrier. I HIGHLY recommend it! Stay optimistic and the economy will rebound! Bill

Comment: I found this Swagman XC Cross-Country 2-Bike Hitch Mount Rack (2-Inch Receiver)Swagman XC Cross-Country 2-Bike Hitch Mount Rack (2-Inch Receiver), to be an EXCELLENT choice to fill my needs. I have a Giant 'Revive' bicycle which is a semi-recumbant style bicycle and lacks the normal cross-bar to attach the bike. I can load my bicycle by just placing the tires in the loops and slide down the ratcheting arm and be on my way in less than 15 seconds. I also like the way it is attached to the hitch by a threaded bolt/pin, it makes for a very solid and stable unit. You cannot use the recommended locking pin, it will not fit, but not many people run around with a wrench big enough to remove it either. (I did see on another review that Swagman has a 'locking threaded pin' available).
I highly recommend it also for the quality overall. The two 'loop' ends can be raised up and held in place by the pins and if necessary the center post can be tilted to the side, or horizontal to gain access to the tail gate without having to remove the carrier.
I found the delivery time and FREE shipping as well as the price from AMAZON.COM to be very good.
