Summary: Gone in a bright flash 2010-02-27
Comment: I switched from the OEM lights in my Saab 2.0t as I wanted something a bit brighter to light up the road and paid almost $50 for this two-pack. I have to say they did light up the road pretty well but for only 4 months and then 1 of them blew.

I went back to the auto parts store today to buy 1 replacement and they indicated that these bulbs are only sold in two-packs, the clerk also indicated that they have short life and that people who buy them come in every few months for replacements.

This is not for me. I want my headlights to just work and I don't want the hassle of changing bulbs every few months.

Bottom Line: I don't recommend these and will move back to OEM bulbs.

Summary: Great lights, short life 2010-02-10
Comment: The light output is great compared to the OEM bulbs in my 2006 Subaru WRX. The one problem I have is that this will be my 3rd set of bulbs in as many years. When the last set failed they both went at the same time and I had to drive home with the brights on for an hour. This time only one went but I replaced both at the same time as recommended. As you can tell I think they are worth the money and effort or I wouldn't be buying a 3rd set. I'm not sure where the "long life" claim comes from in the Amazon ad but that is the only thing keeping me from rating them 5 stars. Depending on the location of your bulbs, and the difficulty of replacing them, you might want to consider a "lower maintenance" (longer lasting) bulb unless you enjoy working on car as I do.

Comment: these lamps really deliver the goods with good lighting. Very happy with the price to performance. Older bulbs dim quite a bit prior to "burning out". Belive that most will find these to be a good deal, enjoy.

Comment: My bulbs have lasted less than 10K miles on my 2005 Outback and then they died.

Summary: Let's just Say I've gone through about 3 packs of these... 2009-12-16
Comment: These are seriously the WORST headlights ever. Sure, they are a bit brighter than the cheap, OEM ones, but it comes at a huge cost in the life of the bulbs.

These burn out fast. Very fast. After some research, it seems that the Silverstar headlights are supposed to burn around 300 hours. The cheapie headlights last around 1000 hours.

So let me get this straight: I'm paying $25 per bulb for 300 hours when I could be paying $7 per bulb for 1000 hours?! All for a bit more light output?!
