Angelcare(r) Movement Sensor with Sound Monitor - Stop worrying while your baby sleeps in her crib!(tm) The Angelcare Movement Sensor with Sound Monitor detects your baby's slightest movements, even while she sleeps. While it may seem that your baby is perfectly still when she is sleeping, she really isn't. An alarm will sound alerting you to check your baby only if she becomes absolutely still for 20 seconds and no movement whatsoever is detected. The under-the-mattress Sensor Pad detects your baby's slightest movements. If your baby goes absolutely still for 20 seconds, the Sensor Pad sends a signal to the Nursery Unit which sounds an alarm alerting you to check your baby. If you are out of the baby's room, the portable Parents' Unit (Sound Monitor) will pick up the alarm as well as other nursery sounds. In addition, the Nursery Unit has an optional tic feature. If the Sensor Pad senses movement, the Nursery Unit will continuously tick. If it doesn't, the ticking will stop. Your crib must have a hard flat surface. If it does not, just place a piece of masonite or a board under the mattress and place the Sensor Pad on top of the masonite and under the mattress. You may order the masonite directly from us. Be sure to place the correct side of the Sensor Pad facing up. The BebeSounds(r) Movement Sensor will give you the peace of mind you won't get from just a sound monitor or even a video monitor. And, this monitor is an excellent value. It is 2 monitors in 1 so you don't have to purchase a sound monitor. Summary: Won't work if baby moves a lot 2008-07-16
Comment: This product is great in theory, in practice once your baby starts moving it's a real downer. I have twins and with one of them I'm getting false alarms 10 times a night. That's with maximum sensitivity, and with the pad moved to the corner she goes to the most... but even then, she's always getting out of range because she likes going against the rails.
Our other baby gives us a false alarm a night, just for moving a bit out of range, too.
So, I'm very disappointed. I thought it would bring me peace of mind, now we have to get up 10 times a night to move the babies so they stay in range, and it wakes them up. Would have been much better with a large pad, that actually covers more of the crib.
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has a baby that moves a lot.

Summary: Excellent product - good for peace of mind & sleep! 2008-04-30
Comment: We got this after our premie son went of his apnea/heart monitor, mainly for peace of mind for me. It is very much worth the money! I would not trade the comfort of knowing he is safe and okay while he's sleeping for anything. This has really made it easy to sleep at night knowing that if something happens, we will know! Our son is now 8 months old and I still have it on every night and we don't get any false alarms (have to be sure the sensor is set correctly and to the right level) even when he's rolling around his crib.

Summary: Sleep w/ ease (excepting the false alarms!) 2008-02-21
Comment: Our neighbor lent us his Angelcare Sensor when we brought our baby home, and let me tell you, I was such a nervous 1st time parent, I wouldn't have been able to sleep without it! We use the No-tic motion sensor, & while our baby was in his bassinet, it was great! We moved him to the crib, though, & have had two false alarms. Keep watch on your baby's sleeping patterns for a little while after you move them to the crib, because ours is a "scooter", moves himself out of his no-roll brace to the head of the crib, which caused himself to move out of the sensor's range twice, setting off the alarm (SLEEPLESS NIGHT!!!) After we readjusted it under the mattress, all was well, and we could sleep with peace of mind once again. This is a MUST for all parents!

Summary: Not too much static. 2008-02-19
Comment: I love this mobile as it does not have too much static. We live in a building and have had bad experience with many other monitors. This one seems to be one of the best in terms of sound clarity. We have not used the sensor so I can't comment on that. However, our friends have used this monitor with the sensor for 6 months and loved it! No false alarms. A good product for the $$$

Summary: Preemie Must Have 2008-01-09
Comment: This was given to us as a gift and has helped us have many nights of sleep. Out son was 8 weeks early and spent 4 weeks in the hospital hooked to monitors. When we were able to bring him home this product helped me sleep better, knowing that it would sound if something went wrong. We only had a few false alarms and that was after we moved him in to his crib, with the inclined sleep positioner, and the crib mattress. My son was to light weight for it to sense him so it would alarm. But once he weighed more it has worked amazingly well, no alarms!!!! Just knowing that it is there helps me sleep every night!!!
