Summary: Able to Go Where Others With Kids Dare Not 2008-06-09
Comment: This carrier frees us to go hiking with our 22 pound child and it works really well. I'm a 61 year old grandma and I can easily carry my grandchild on my back with this. It also frees up my hands so I can carry a leash and walk my dogs while carrying my granddaughter on my back. She enjoys the scenery and we get our exercise.

Summary: hard on my back 2008-05-20
Comment: i had this product for about two weeks and i must say it was really helpful. but for me it hurt my back. the hard plastic cut into my lower back a bit and also i felt that the weight wasn't on my shoulders enough, therefore making my back and shoulders sore.
my husband on the other hand didn't complain a bit he liked it. he is a lot taller than me too. he's 6'5" and i'm 5'8". i think that has to do with it a lot. if you are tall and/or have a long torso this back pack is gonna work for you.
all the features are great. though there aren't very many! the chest strap that some people said wasn't long enough definitely is. and the stand definitely does open and close with out pushing a bottom. maybe their models were defective or something.
in the end the reason we returned it it because somehow when i was closing the stand it broke and it wouldn't open or close all the way after that so it would have been very unsafe to leave my baby in it while it was standing up on a surface. that was a pretty big deal for me so i decided to return it.

Comment: Chicco Smart Support Backpack Blue Sky
The Chicco Smart Support Backpack is one of the best purchase I made this year. My grandson is supported and secure. He also enjoys the scenery. It dose not matter if we are out hiking, or doing thing around the home together. I can keep him close at the same time do little things around the home.

Summary: So far So Good 2008-03-19
Comment: I just received this today, and from the moment it arrived I've been testing it all day with my 8mo old 23lb little boy. I'm 5'4" and had no trouble adjusting the shoulder straps to fit me perfectly. I'm also a busty busty gal, and the chest strap was no issue for me, I even have more room should I need it (though I doubt it). Baby boy loves it. I plan on using it this summer for camping trips with our family (4 kids) so having free hands is a must, and baby boy is too much of a porker to put in a front pack. I also plan to use it for short outings, like a quick trip to the post office or to and from the car for picnics (most places we go are not stroller friendly).
Cons that I have noticed already.....
There isn't a whole lot of extra storage with this, just one little pouch (big enough to fit maybe 3 diapers and a travel case of wipies) and a glasses case.... so with my shoulders occupied, finding places to stash stuff I might need may prove to be an interesting task.
Baby boy sits eye level with my hair, and has yet to NOT pull it.... mommies with grabby babies may want to invest in a hat.
Otherwise, I'm pleased so far- then again, I've only had it a day.

Comment: Got this for my husband, and it is just the best. Our 1 year old love riding in it. It's awesome for hiking and perfect for walking around in museums, malls. There is just something about being up high when you are a little baby. Much more fun.
