Comfort Aid Breast Pads are a high glycerine content gel padding designed to help reduce nipple discomfort, improve nipple skin condition and for the management of breast and nipple injury. Due to the high concentration glycerine the product exhibits bacteriostatic and fungistatic properties. Being bacteriostatic, the product will reduce the growth of bacteria, thus keeping the open cracks from becoming infected. With the low water content, the skin will be protected against maceration. Glycerine is a natural humectant that maintains moisture level to the skin.
