Summary: An amazing crib 2008-11-13
Comment: I bought this crib well over a year ago and I absolutely love it. It was the only crib that I could imagine in my baby's room, even though it was in the wrong color. I loved it so much that I went ahead and bought it and had it professionally refinished in black laquer to match my baby's room.
It is incredibly sturdy--no creeking or wobbling. My husband had it together in about 45 min with no problems. As with most baby cribs, it is made of a softer wood that can ding and scratch easily, but at least it is made of solid wood and not veneers like some others out there.
The fresh paint does smell a little when it first comes out of the box, so do let it air out for a few weeks before the baby arrives. I have read many poor reviews on this crib because it has a chemical smell when first opened, but anything with a new paint job is going to smell especially when it has been in an enclosed box for a period of time.
A toddler guard rail is not included which is the only complaint that I have. If there is a rail out there that works with this crib please post it to let others know. I'm going to give the Kidco Convertible Crib Rail a try.
I couldn't be happier with this purchase, especially for the price.

Summary: The Perfect Crib 2007-09-10
Comment: I'm convinced this is the perfect crib. It has a great price and is so incredibly sturdy. It was very easy to put together. I love that the screw holes aren't visible on the front of the crib.
The color is described as antique white, but I see it as a warm white. A nice in between to the sometimes yellowish look of a true antique white and the stark sterile look of most white cribs.
We bought bedding and curtains that have some neutral white pieces and it doesn't clash in the slightest.
The front rail does not move. To lower and raise the mattress you need to take the matress out and then remove and reposition the screws that hold the bottom. I'm about 5'6" and there is no problem with putting the baby in the crib on the lowest setting.
