Summary: 3 Years and We're Still Happy 2007-08-22
Comment: We've used this for nearly 3 years with no problems. If you read the instructions, the locking should not be a problem, and is actually more of a safety feature-you have to pull up on the center to unlock, and make sure the center is pushed down to lock it. Our daughter slept in it for the first year of her life in our room (1/2 the time in the bassinet, which worked fine). We've taken this on countless vacations, and it is easy to travel with and set up. Our daughter still likes to sleep in it (she's small for her age). I'd recommend it to anyone-we've been very pleased. We're expecting our second baby, and plan to use the same one because it has held up really well.

Summary: Don't waste your time with this, get a Pack N Play instead 2007-08-09
Comment: I agree with most everyone else who has already reviewed this product. I have the Madison playard in a different print, and have had the exact same problems with the sides collapsing. One rail will not lock into place -- even if we pull up on the bottom of the playard like the instructions tell you to, and manage to get the rail to "lock," if something as light as a feather touches the rail it falls down immediately. Not safe at all for my daughter who has started crawling and will need something sturdier to sleep in for the overnight trips to grandparents houses -- even more so once she starts pulling herself up to stand. Soooo disappointed with this product, particularly since we bought it brand new, and it has probably been set up & put away less than 10 times since we got it. I wouldn't recommend an Evenflo playard to anyone, unless they do some serious redesigning of their product.

Summary: Not safe for a baby!!! 2007-07-09
Comment: I bought this unit when I was 3 months pregnant for my son. I liked that the colors were neutral and could be used for either sex. I had my son 3 weeks ago, and used the playard for te bassinet next to my bed. After one week of use the bottom center of the playard popped up and one of the sides collapsed which tipped over the playard with my on in it. Luckily he was so small he only rolled into the side of the bassinet and did not fall to the floor. This incident could have been a lot worse. I called Evenflo's Customer Care Line and they will reimburse me for the playard. I would have expected this from a cheap unit, but not for the price I paid. I now own a Graco Pack n Play, which I love and must say is better manufactured in every aspect. I feel Evenflo should recall this playard to prevent further injuries.

Summary: Good for ~5 uses 2007-04-11
Comment: EDIT - I must attest I am a bit of a buffoon - the big bold sign on the bottom of the play mat reads you should pull up on the bottom if the locks don't engage. After doing this the sides snap into place easily, every time. Guess I should call a company for more info before I bash them with a bad review. Outside of the lock issue the other comments stand. If possible I will try and upgrade this to a 3 star as I expected a bit more quality for the high $$$ paid.

The easy assembly advertised worked for our first few uses, then the locks began to fail. Now I must struggle to assemble the thing, fighting every time to get the locks to engage. The recommendation from Evenflo is to pinch the legs together (providing additional leverage against the lock). This does nothing for my play yard. After reading some of the deaths associated with the Graico line (with similar locking problems) I will no longer use this product. Also of note: The side pouch was ripped when we first opened the box. Grandma came to the rescue and stitched up the problem. Now the storage bag is ripping at the seams. All of this points to poor quality control in Evenflo.

The brief time it was working did provide some helpful use while we were out on the road. The grandparents used it and did find benefit from it (when it locked). Though I'm sure this would have been the case with any working play yard.

Comment: This product is horrible. The middle part of the play yard will not lock. We haven't even had the chance to use it and it is already broke. It is horrible. I will never buy anything from Evenflo again.
