Summary: Don't waste your time or money on this high chair (even used). 2006-12-23
Comment: I bought this high chair used because I had an old one with a vinyl seat cover that was ripping, then I sold the old high chair. Boy, do I wish I had it back! The main problems with this high chair are that it doesn't sit at a completely upright angle to be able to eat properly, and to make the problem worse, the tray sits way too high. My daughter, who is 2 1/2, STILL has trouble eating her food comfortably because the tray is so high. And yes, food gets trapped in every crack and crevace, especially in the fold of the footrest. I really dislike this high chair and can't believe what a poor design it is. I am now getting rid of it and thankfully moving to a booster chair!

Summary: Please recall this highchair 2006-12-05
Comment: I can not even believe that they are still selling this highchair. I got this as a shower gift. I have the black/tan pattern witch matched the stroller as well. I have had so many problems with this highchair. It is very dangerous. The only pro is it looks better in out kitchen and blends with out decor. There are so many cons. First it leans way too far back. I started using it when my son was about 5 months old and at the time just thought he was too little for it. Now, my son is 1 1/2 and he still can not sit up in it. It makes it impossible for him to drink from a cup without spilling, and he has to bring the spoon to him so food gets everywhere. It is so very hard to clean. I wash it all the time but it gets food in every crack. I don't have the tine clean it out with a tooth brush like it needs to be. My biggest complaint is that the tray and the sides of the highchair come off with enough pressure. My son was having a hungry fit while i was warming up his food and at 10 months was able to push the tray and the center poece that holds the tray right onto the floor. Thankfully my son was strapped in, my little dog got hit with it. I would not even give this highchair away. It is such a bad product. I have called and called and yet no one seems to think it is an issue because no child has be seriously hurt yet. What will it take?

Summary: READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE BUYING THIS CHAIR!! 2006-11-29
Comment: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY/TIME ON THIS HIGH CHAIR. It is awful! Reasons why:
1. My son cut his mouth on this chair when he was just starting solids. I had the chair set at one of the lowest heights, and at this level a teething baby has full access to gumming the tops of the chair legs, where the chair "folds." It looks safe, the chair is locked in position and the crevice is very tiny...but my son began screaming and even bled after getting part of his mouth caught in that crevice. This chair should be RECALLED! I ended up covering the tops of the chair legs with dishtowels, tightly tied to prevent him from gumming the chair itself.
2. There are TONS of little crevices for food to get trapped in (not to mention little mouthes), IT IS VERY UNSANITARY. I scrub it with a toothbrush--you don't want this hassle!! There are tiny screws underneath the cloth cover, and these need to be scrubbed out with a toothbrush too--food makes it beneath the cloth.
3. As previous reviews mention, the cloth cover is hilarious. I registered for this chair for my firstborn, b/c I thought it was "cute." I'm sure the designers of the chair thought so too....but in reality a cloth cover washed almost daily wears out, looks ratty, and is silly!
4. The black cushion beneath the cloth cover is held on by two flimsy plastic hooks. During washing/drying the cloth cover, my son would sit on the cushion, and eventually the plastic hooks snapped and it doesn't fit snuggly anymore.
5. Yes, the foot tray is a disaster: food gets stuck in it....feet don't reach it.....and it's at the perfect height for a curious toddler to walk past it and reach for icky crumbs that you need a toothbrush to fish out.
6. It DOES NOT SIT IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION!! This baffles me, b/c they designed it with several up and down height positions.....and recline positions....EXCEPT 90 DEGREES! My son is now 18 months and still cannot see over the tray and into his bowl, b/c of the strange height of the tray. Not to mention he is always in a semi-reclined position, which poses a hazard and makes HUGE messes when he tries to sit back and pour food onto himself.
Instead, look for a high chair with:
1. Harness straps that go over your child's shoulders (my kiddo can wiggle out of belt straps).
2. Few, if any, crevices that will get stuck with food particles.
3. A seat cover/cushion that is vinyl/plastic and wipes easily. Toddlers are messy! Save yourself the headache!
4. Chairs that sit fully 90 degrees. Seems like a no-brainer, but you'd be surprised. If you can find one with an adjustable TRAY height (not chair height), it will help your kiddo sit ergonomically.
Best wishes,
Gabe's mommy.

Summary: Should Be Recalled!!! 2006-10-01
Comment: The chair never sits upright which poses a choking hazard to your little one.
The tray is 3 inches thick and horribly heavy to remove.
The tray is also so high that my 9 month old cannot see what she is eating.
This high chair should be recalled!

Summary: When childless people design high chairs 2006-07-18
Comment: This chair is bad in many, many ways.
-- Lets begin with the cloth seat cover. Assuming you don't have a toddler with perfect table manners you're going to put this in the washing machine after each use (that's not going to get old!!!). Either that or have your child sit in the previous day's avocado/banana fest that the sponge only smeared.
-- The food tray is bulky and very heavy and is difficult to remove both tray and child together.
-- The seat doesn't reach full upright position so you're child is in a perpectual 20 degree recline while eating. They struggle to reach their food and subsequently pull much of it into their laps.
-- The footrest which has yet to be useful is a great trap for food particles which seemingly have no way of being removed.
We went for the Graco Harmony and have been very happy.
