Summary: Thank goodness for fat cats!!! 2008-08-27
Comment: Although I don't like to feel like I am locked in a cage...I put this gate up in the entry way of my living room and it works great! I have to admit that I have two obese cats but they aren't declawed and I have new leather furniture. It is tall and super easy to install NO TOOLS NECESSARY. It delivered super fast and the company I bought it from informed me every step of the way. No complaints.

Summary: Awsome safe gate with great features. we have a toddler &4 tall dogs 2008-04-10
Comment: I did allot of research before I decided on this gate. I was scared to death when I read some reviews where kids fingers were broken from the gate shutting on them or severe cuts. I did not see many reviews bad for this gate other than it was stated to be hard to assemble and put in place. I have owned this gate now for 4 months and I love this with no regrets. To assemble only took a whooping 10 minutes. The gate is a good price because it includes two extensions unlike the other gates that made you pay extra for them. I only used one extension for the area I used it in. To install the gate was a little tricky but that is only because of the baseboard. It took 20 minutes to fully install this gate. I used a drill, a level and an extra hand to help hold the gate in place while you screw the tension rods into the end caps. You only have to drill 4 small screw holes into the wall. Because this gate was taller than alot of the gates on the market I was not able to install directly onto the stairs. I installed it at an angle which works better than the stairs. The stairs would give the toddler or pet a leverage to climb it. The gate swings gently and locks in place behind you. Very easy to open up even with your hands full. The widith of the gate is a good space as I'm a plus sized momma. I have no trouble getting through or feeling like you have to squeeze through it. As stated we have 4 dogs. One of which is a bloodhound. She is almost 6 foot tall when she stands on her back legs. To this date she has not been able to climb this gate or push it down. The gate has stayed in its original install sight and is tight as the day I installed it. Overall I see no flaws with this gate and is perfect for pets and kids. I had to take the gate down to move out some furniture. It was just a matter of unscrewing the tension screws and picking it up and out of the screwed in wall caps. Once they movers were done, I simply placed the ends in the caps and screwed the tension rods back again.

Summary: Not great for Cats 2008-02-22
Comment: I purchased this gate after reading several reviews on different sites. Several people mentioned that this gate worked well for their cats. I assume that those cats are old and fat or young and small. My cats are two years old and they jumped right over this gate soon after I installed it. I gave a rating of three stars because the gate is of good quality and may be able to serve other purposes... not necessarily for cats.

Comment: This gate is great. It is very tall - my cat won't even attempt jumping it. I bought it to keep him out of my baby's room instead of buying a crib tent. It is easy to install, easy to use and very stable. I searched all over for the best gate and am glad I bought this one.
