Summary: Inexpensive Sippy Cups 2008-08-07
Comment: I found these sippy cups and they have served us well. When my children were infants we used the Gerber sippy cups which worked well but were really expensive. As my children got older but still not old enough to use a cup without spilling the contents, I switched to these.

They last with repeated use for several months then ours eventually develop a crack in them from my boys throwing them on the floor. I do hand wash mine even though they state top-rack dishwasher safe and I believe that helps them last a little longer. They will tend to leak a little if turned upside down and the tops will pop off occasionally. The valve-free design allows for a little leakage but also makes for much easier cleaning. My sons are at the age where we are transitioning them to regular cups and these are perfect for that in-between stage.

These are also labeled plastic type 5 which is polypropylene which is considered safe and does not leach BPA (bisphenol-A) into foods and beverages like some plastics can. That makes me feel better and sets my mind at ease about using these with my children.

These are cheap enough where I can keep extras in my car and diaper bag in case I need them on the run. The 7-oz size is perfect for smaller children and the 10-oz size is perfect for toddlers.

Summary: Best sippy cup I've ever used! 2008-06-05
Comment: With all due respect to the other reviewers, I feel like we are reviewing different products. I have used the Avent sippy spouts (which I quit using after just a few tries--the valve made it almost impossible for an adult to get any liquid out, let alone a young toddler!), a few other sippy cups, but hit the mother lode when I discovered these Take & Toss sippy cups. My son is now 2 years, 8 months, and has been using this product since he was 7 months old. I use it as his primary cup. He has been out of a bottle since he was 9 or 10 months old, and transitioned directly from a combination of breast/bottle directly to this. I have found the cups to be durable after repeated use and washings (I wash by hand as I don't have a dishwasher). Only once have I ever had a lid crack, and it is a tiny crack in a non-critical area, so I am still using it. When he was younger and would chew some on the lid, I did throw the lids out after a few months of use. But that's why they are called "semi-disposable." I found the non-spill seal to be better than other products I tried, without making it overly difficult for him to suck. When the product is new, liquids only spill out if you hold the cup upside down and shake hard. With time, however, the lids do tend to "relax" a bit and let more liquid out when held upside down. When this happens, just toss and replace! Only now, at over 2 1/2, is my son able to remove the lid on his own, so I find that to be a real plus! With time, some "crud" can gather in the lid. Just use a simple Q-tip to clean, and you're good to go!!

Summary: Nice cup 2007-06-25
Comment: When we first started our daughter on a sippy cup she had trouble drinking from several other sippy cups, however, she found this cup to be very easy. It was a great first cup for her. At first we only put water in the sippy cup which at the time worked well, however, we found that when this cup was tipped it would leak a little bit, so once we swiched to feeding her milk from a cup, we switched cups. We do still use these cups for water and when traveling because it's not an expensive cup if it gets lost.

Summary: these cups are ridiculous 2007-01-11
Comment: at someone's recommendation, i bought a few packs of these cups for our 15 month old twins to take on our disney vacation. from the very first day, i hated them. initially, when i found the lids were hard to put on, i figured they were going to work well. i filled one, struggled, but finally got the lid on securely, and gave it to one of my boys. he promptly dropped it on the floor (a carpeted floor, no less) and the lid popped off, spilling juice everywhere. sinces they have no valve, they leak like faucets when tipped the very slightest and flooded my boys' mouths when they drank.

i am glad i brought along something else with us for them to drink out of, or i would have had to purchase expensive sippy cups from disney world. we finally found a useful purpose for them when we used them to play with in the tub while on our vacation. then we left an entire unopened pack there because they were not even worth taking home.

i would give these cups negative stars if i could. they certainly are take and TOSS cups.

Summary: Nice Idea bad product 2006-11-08
Comment: I got these cups for my 15 mo old son. I thought that they would be great, a nice cup to take with us when we go out that I would not mind if we lost. I bought two packs and opened them right up, wash them, and then handed one to my son while he was sitting at the table. Not even two seconds later he had pulled the cap off and dumped the cup. This would be a great idea if the lids screwed on like the other sippy cups. The lids are really easy to take off. I would not recommend this cup to anyone unless you want a cup that your kids can open and you want to sit right next to them when ever they use this cup. Me I would just rather give him a regular cup he can not make any more of a mess. I love the other take and toss items and am really disappointed in this one.
