Product Description
Keep a close "ear" on your baby with this reliable monitor from Fisher-Price. With dual receivers, the Private Monitor is 900 mhz with a new flat design and an upgraded feature set. It allows parents to hear a baby's call -- and see it -- with the 5-LED variable light display. And with a whopping ten channels, this monitor increases the privacy of the connection by reducing the likelihood of someone else picking up the transmission. Other features include a unique LCD screen that graphically displays volume, channels, range and battery life; plus rechargeable batteries for added convenience and value. Amazon.com Product Reviews
The Fisher-Price Private Connection monitor has all the necessary features, and has them packaged and presented in an intuitive way. First, the receiver is not oversized or bulky, and the liquid crystal display (LCD) is large clear. It shows battery level, channel, volume, and range. The five-LED (light-emitting diode) display shows the sound level when you have the volume turned down. The dual receivers are rechargeable, and while it might not be as cheap as alkaline battery-powered monitors, you should end up spending less in the long run. The transmitter is small and discreet. It has 10 channels like a walkie-talkie for more privacy. It uses a 900 MHz frequency that is less crowded than the traditional 46 MHz frequency used by most baby monitors and cheaper walkie-talkies. With the Fisher-Price Private Connection you get great range and clarity without interference from your other electronics, or potential crossover from someone else's devices. --Scott Teal

Summary: Does what it is supposed to do 2008-06-21
Comment: I was satisfied with the Fisher-Price Private Connection Monitor with Dual Receivers - White. I found the lights on the front of the receivers to be much more useful than I would have thought. We have a large 2 story house with the nursery upstairs on one end of the house and a theater room/game room in the basement. No matter where in the house I am, I never lose more than 1 bar of signal. And when I do feel like gaming or watching a movie late, I can turn the volume down on the receivers and be able to tell if there is noise coming from the nursery by the lights on the front of the reciever lighting up. An additional note, we have wireless internet and all phones in house are wireless, and I notice very little, IF ANY, static over the receivers. The only thing I regret about buying these is that we wouldn't have needed 2 receivers and could have got by no problem with one receiver.

Summary: Avoid this product if you don't want it breaking 2008-05-28
Comment: This product is not recommended unless you don't mind it breaking every 12 months.
I've owned two now that start off working pretty well. After about 8 months, things start to no longer function:
- Adjusting the volume button results in speak not working. You must jiggle it to make it work
- Static/noise appearing in the signal when nothing else has changed (e.g. receiver and monitor are in the same location with the same channel)
- Random spikes in the volume of the receiver
Overall, its not a good product and fisher price should be ashamed to have their name attached to it. If this cost $[...] i may consider buying it.

Summary: great product!! 2008-05-04
Comment: This is the second Fisher-price monitor I have had. This model is the upgrade from my old one. It is a great price for a good product. The connections are very clear and having it rechargable is wonderful!

Summary: Great Monitor. 2008-04-19
Comment: This a great monitor for the price. We were hesitant to buy it since it was fairly new and there were no reviews on it, but we are pleasantly surprised how clear it could be. We have had no interference or static with this monitor compared to others and plus we get two monitors!

Summary: Waste of Time and Money 2008-03-22
Comment: We bought this monitor 2 weeks ago, and I'm already shopping for a new one. The static is NON STOP. We can't hear our son over the static. It's ridiculous. We leave it plugged in during the night and use the batteries during naptimes. The batteries last about 2 days. It beeps constantly, even when the base is plugged in and turned on. (it says it has a far reach, but my sons room is 2 rooms away and it can never seem to find the signal) DON'T BUY THIS MONITOR. Waste of money!!!
