Summary: Vibration function is nice, however, volume is poor, reception is iffy 2008-08-27
Comment: Positives - looks good. Small & Compact. Picks up any noise in the nursery. Vibration feature is nice.

Negatives - Poor battery life on the reciever. Battery dies after a few hours.
Poor reception. Loses link in various sections of the house (small house too - 1400 sqft).
Receiver has very low volume. You can't have the TV on at a reasonably quite volume and hear cries on the monitor. When we put our son to bed, I can't watch TV and hear this unit.

I would definately go for a different unit, if you want to hear when your kid cries...

Summary: Poor range and reception 2008-07-21
Comment: I use baby monitors for an unusual purpose. My kids are 10, 8, and 7. I keep one outside when my kids are playing in the back yard, just to make sure that everyone is playing nicely and no one is getting hurt. It has come in handy on a number of occasions - breaking up fights between my kids and the neighbors, or knowing instantly when someone was starting to do something they shouldn't. It's also a great deterrent because the kids know I am listening.

The wonderful Fisher Price monitor I bought when my oldest was a baby finally bit the dust after 10 years so I invested in this monitor. I am taking it back. The FP had FAR superior reception, far clearer sound, and picked up the kids even from the neighbor's yard. Sometimes I turned it on just to hear the birds chirping outside.

Not this one. The sound quality is grating and harsh. It cuts in and out as others complained. And the reception is terrible. The kids can be 10 feet away talking in a normal voice and I can barely hear them. It certainly doesn't measure up to the basic bare bones FP monitor I bought years ago.

Summary: Great Baby Monitor 2008-06-22
Comment: The signal is always loud and clear with this monitor. We live in an apartment with wireless dsl and 2 wireless phones in NYC. We never have any interference. At a party, the vibration feature came in handy too. I also like that both receiver and monitor can be plugged in or not.

Summary: Poor signal strength 2008-05-01
Comment: This is a nice looking and feature product but it just fails to work. I can be two rooms over, less than 50-60 feet from the base and it just stays red and beeps. Its just amazing that with digital technology they still can't get these things to work ....

Summary: Good, but cuts out a lot 2008-03-11
Comment: I got this monitor a couple of months ago. It works o.k., but it cuts out a lot. It also loses contact with the base so you'll see the light flashing red and it beeps. That's a little annoying. The other problem is that the batteries on the base unit get used up quickly. I purchased some rechargeable ones so that I could at least recharge them. I used them for one day and now they need to be recharged again. They give you some rechargeable ones for the receiver which recharge on the cradle, but you have to get your own for the base. And those are the ones that get used up in an instant. Don't even bother putting any in. Just keep it with the cord. The vibrator mode is cool because you can put it on your belt and also listen to your mp3 player at the same time without worrying about not hearing your child.
