The Guardian Angel window guard is a must have for parents of young active children. The Guardian Angel Window Guard is designed to prevent children under the age of 5 from falling out of windows. Screens alone are not strong enough to keep a child from falling out a window. With a Guardian Angel installed securely over their window, parents and caregivers can prevent deadly falls from occurring. ) Measure the depth of the window frame where the posts will be mounted (inside right and left sides of window frame).
If the depth of the frame is less than ? inch, the guard will need to be mounted on the outside of the window frame (on the molding or wall around the window). The end posts are ? inch wide and need at least that much space for installation. Please keep in mind, the end posts need to be screwed into solid material or stud for proper operation.
2) Once you determine if you are installing the guard on the inside or outside of the window frame (on the molding or wall), measure the width of that area.
This will determine the width of the guard.
3) Measure the height of the window opening with the window fully open.
The height of the guard is 21 3/8 inches. The window should not exceed this height. If the window's opening is more than 21 3/8 inches high, you can use a window stop to prevent the window from opening above the guard. If the top window panel opens, and it can't be secured, the entire window must be guarded. You will need a vertical style guard (see instructions on how to measure sliding windows).
