Summary: Great Quality 2008-05-27
Comment: It is so great to have our Lazy Susan back and have all the can, jars of spices etcetera off of the kitchen counter. We were not prepared for our 1 year old son to learn how to work the lazy susan. He figured it out one day and we tried to keep him away from it, but then he got in and dropped a can on his foot. Right that minute we completely emptied the cabinet and I ordered this lock. Very easy to install, but it does require you to drill two small holes inside the cabinet for installation. Very easy to use. The first two times you have to stop and think for a minute, but after that it becomes second nature. I was concerned about the durability upon seeing the product because it is just one piece of plastic, but it is very durable. My son has hanged from the cabinet knob and pushed into the cabinet like a linebacker and it is still holding.

The only downfall I see is that you cannot swing the lazy susan in a complete circle. If you want something in the very end you have to swing all the way around to it and then swing all the back to close the cabinet. Not a big issue to us at all.

Summary: A bit difficult to use 2008-02-08
Comment: Pushing from the side and twisting isn't a very natural effort. But maybe that's a good thing if you want to keep kids out. It's certainly not at all intuitive given what looks like a nice round button in front.

Like a previous reviewer stated, you'll need about 2" to 2.5" of space to get the lock in and your fingers around it. What this means for us is that we could only choose to use it on a certain side and we'll have to train ourselves to spin the lazy susan in a different direction from now on. The spacer, which eliminates door jiggling works great. Now if only they could design the lock so that the door could still spin freely in both directions when unlocked!

Incidently, the instructions recommend pre-drilling with a 1/16" bit but we found a 3/32" bit worked better... especially since it is hard to get leverage on the screw and the screw head strips easily if one is not careful.

Good luck!

Summary: Works great while it lasts! 2008-01-11
Comment: We have the same problem-the lock lasts a few months (its hard plastic, so it isn't very forgiving) then we have to replace it. We looked at some other options too, but they would require drilling into the front of the cabinet and trim and I don't want to do that. As it is, the last one just broke a week ago and I'm frustrated at cleaning up flour, etc. so everything sits in a tub on the table. If you don't mind replacing it often (order a few to start with-for $3 you can always sell them later if they don't get used), then this is a decent buy!

Summary: Works for a little while. 2006-12-10
Comment: This lock works good for a little while, then the push mechanism breaks. It may or may not break completely off, so it could still work even when it breaks. I've gone through two of these already, and they only lasted a few months before they broke.

Summary: Doesn't work with my lazy susan 2005-09-29
Comment: I have about an inch and a half of space between my lazy susan and the adjacent bank of drawers. If I install this lock, the base of it will block one of the drawers from opening. It also means that I would have to drill into the formica trim on the cabinet. I'm returning it.
