Summary: WASTE OF MONEY! 2008-10-03
Comment: One good tug on the door handle and my very small 18 month old has the door open. They do not stay in "locked" position if you apply any force. They lock just slides over and the door is open! They cannot be depended on!

Summary: great at first... 2008-09-30
Comment: These worked great for about 3 months until my strong-willed and strong-armed just-turned-two year old learned to hang on them until the lever budged. She then easily opens the door. Not sure about people commenting that they got stuck on the other side. Ours allow the other side to be opened with the lock engaged, no problem. Maybe they were installed wrong, or a different model? If you have a strong/tall kid, try something else.

Summary: Works for one direction only 2008-07-21
Comment: We bought this lever because it was the only one at the store for lever handles. It works to keep our toddler out of the basement, but it's a little scary if I go downstairs to do a laundry load, wondering if he might close the door behind me and accidentally slide the lock into place. My husband and I have each locked the basement not knowing the other was down there, leading to pounding on the door to be let out. Which got me thinking, when would you want to risk one-directional locking? Someone could easily lock you into a room (or your pantry, your patio, etc) with no way out. I'm switching to a both-directional lock.

Summary: Not what we were looking for. 2008-07-02
Comment: This product can be a pain to install; you have to disasemble the door handle to put it on. I really need a lock that will allow access from the other side of the door, while prohibiting my 22month old from entering. My older kids are able to get around it (not the correct way) so it's only a matter of time until the toddler learns how!

Summary: Does not work on certain levers 2007-10-04
Comment: This was terrible for my doors! I guess I have the levers with a decorative edge, because my levers come too far out to catch on the provided stopper. I think it would work pretty good if it had fit. Until your toddler figures out how to push and slide the mechanism that opens the device. Which I really think they will figure out in time. In summery I would try something else.
