- Comes with safety mirror
- Helps develop manual dexterity
- Teaches the concept of cause and effect
Product Description
Your child will love the musical sounds from each animal in this Musical Shape Sorter. Choose the pig, the cow, the duck or the sheep, and hear the childhood musical songs played for each animal. Pull the animals out and they make engaging rattles for your child. Look on the back, and you have a busy box with play beads, mirror and a phone dial. This toy will stimulate your child to learn and develop with sound and pitch, colors and shapes, gripping and release and sorting skills. Includes attachment strap and requires two "AAA" batteries (included). Editorial Review
This is an activity toy that will get used, thanks to its multitude of entertaining, developmentally challenging functions; and it has a clean, happy design that'll please parents, too. The plastic tray has four shapes that can be removed from their respective holes and replaced. Each shape has an adorable, simple picture of a farm animal. When the shape is placed correctly, the animal can be pushed to sound a realistic "moo" or "oink." There's a musical function, too, where a song is played instead of an animal noise. The shapes themselves make cute rattles when they're removed. And if that weren't enough, when you flip the thing over, there's a selection of the old reliable baby-amusers: a rotary dial, a mirror, and a line of beads. The whole affair is topped off with a nice carrying handle. Highly recommended. --Claire Dederer

Summary: My 1 year old approves 2005-10-19
Comment: She got this toy for her birthday and just loves it. It keeps her occupied the whole time while I am getting ready for work. Her favorite side is the shapes. She will take them out and put them back in over and over again. When she pushes on the shape she will wiggle and bob her head to the music. A good value for the price.

Summary: WONDERFUL TOY!!! 2005-04-05
Comment: My mom bought this toy for my 13 month old daughter. She absolutely LOVES it! She loves pushing the animals to hear the sounds they make, taking the shapes out and shaking them (they rattle), and turning it over to play with the items on the other side. It entertains her for a good 30 minutes, which is quite long for a 13 month old. I read that some people were not as impressed with it, but I have not had 1 problem. I would recommend this toy to everyone!

Summary: Not as great as the reviews would have you believe 2004-07-08
Comment: I was surprised that this toy got such good reviews, because I am not at all impressed with it. I thought that both of my sons (12 mos. and almost 3 years) would enjoy it, but neither has spent much time with it, despite enjoying other shape sorters - plus, one loves music, the other loves animals/making animal sounds. The shapes are hard to get out, and this frustrates my 1-year-old son. And I was disappointed that the music doesn't play when the shape is inserted; you have to press the shape after putting it in to get the music to play (or bypass that, and push the little button to get the music without even doing the shapes).

Summary: My toddler approves! 2003-11-20
Comment: My son is 15 months now and has played with this toy for several months. It has helped teach him animal names and sounds, and he enjoys the music it plays. He also likes the shape sorting, as well as the activities on the other side (a clicking wheel, etc.). We take this toy with us on trips because it provides good entertainment value for its size.

Summary: music morphed out 2003-08-06
Comment: i purchased this when my child was a few months old. she loved it because of the sounds of the animals. as she got older she enjoyed putting the pieces in their places. i have returned it twice because it doesn't work. each time i change the batteries but it still doesn't work. i will return the second and call it quits. the concept is great and when it works it's good but now my child is 18 months and it frustrates her.
