Nosefrida Nasal Aspirator
- "I like the Nosefrida, which doesn't require you to put anything inside the nose." Dr William Sears, MD, FAAP (www.askdrsears.com)
- "Safe, effective, effortless." - Dr Jaime Edelstein, MD, FAAP
- "Nosefrida is a superior tool when children have colds and stuffy noses. It is safe and will not harm the sensitive nasal tissues of the nose. It is hygienic and easy to use, and I recommend it highly." - Dr Gilda Torres-Portalatin, MD, FAAP
- "Cold and flu season can be a difficult time for parents with young children. Recent studies have shown that over-the-counter medications provide little or no relief for symptoms of nasal congestion and runny nose. I have personally used Nosefrida on my children and can attest to the ease of use, safety and effective suctioning of the nose. As a pediatrician and mother of three, I endorse this product without reservation and hope that it will soon be added to the newborn kit for mothers upon discharge from the hospital." - Dr Tina Carroll-Scott, MD, FAAP
- "Nosefrida gives the parents a chance to help babies blow their nose and clear their airway so they can sleep and eat. It's userfriendly and safe. I recommend it to all my Moms as part of their cold care regimen. It helps keep kids off antibiotics." - Dr Cheryl E. Perkins, MD, FAAP
Product Description
The doctor recommended nasal aspirator. Developed in Sweden by Pediatricians and Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists, Nosefrida has been used by European Moms and Dads for years. It features a 15" clear plastic tube that extends from a nasal nozzle, allowing the parent to use their own suction to draw mucus out of their child's nose. Disposable filters prevent the user from catching the child's cold. The device is easy to clean and is dishwasher safe. Nosefrida is made of non-allergenic, latex-free polypropylene. It is safe to use and causes no injury to you or your child.

Summary: Doesn't work like we anticipated 2008-07-04
Comment: After reviewing a number of aspirators available for our 5 month old, we decided to go with this one. Unfortunately, after two colds (runny nose), since we purchased it in June, neither time worked using Nosefrida. We ended up using a portion of a Kleenex tissue to get out what we needed to for him to breath at night and during the day.

Summary: a great item 2008-06-19
Comment: My kid hates this, and screams when I use it. However, when her nose is blocked, I have been able to aspirate out lots of mucus from her nose, and she feels much better after I am done. Sucking out her nose gunk seems gross, and crude....but it really works. Since she struggles, we always need 2 people to do this - the second person to hold the head. The combination of this instrument + using a vaporizer in her room really helps when she has a cold.

Summary: Nosefrida - a waste of money 2008-06-18
Comment: My baby girl, from day one, has had a cold every other month of her life (she's now 8 mos). Needless to say, she HATES the bulb and I wanted to try something else to relieve her from the anguish of that suction which I've had to use oh so often. After much research of looking for an alternative to the blue bulb, and reading dozens of rave reviews for this product, I bought it, thinking it would be a reasonable replacement to the invasive, but "tried and true" bulb. Wow, was I the fool. The amount of inhaling it takes to extract the bare minimum mucus leaves you breathless and dizzy, let alone the volume I ultimately need to remove to get the job done. Plus, with her moving side-to-side, its impossible to get any kind of leverage. Sure the blue bulb makes her cry, but IT WORKS. And the pay off off her being able to breathe outweighs the short-term agony. There is no point in buying a product that may be less invasive but DOESN'T WORK! Its a great concept, but it doesn't deliver. Not for my family.

Summary: Sounds gross, but it's awesome! 2008-06-01
Comment: This is one of the best baby products ever. It's much more effective than the nasal bulb syringes, gentler, and best of all - it's easy to clean!
I kid you not, we bought 4 of them so we always have one (car, diaper bag, bedside table, bathroom)!

Summary: Disgusting... but it works! 2008-05-30
Comment: After reading several other reviews, I bought this for my congested 6 month old son. Follow the directions and get your child to sit still for half a second and it will work. I have used it about a half dozen times to clear his nose and it has worked like a charm every time.... and no, the snot never went further than in the tube where it is supposed to go! In fact, a couple of times it just pulled out of his nose and I easily wiped it away with a tissue. I know... gross but hey, YOU are the one reading the review about a booger-taker-outer!! :)
