Summary: This stroller is terrific for tall parents! 2008-08-01
Comment: My husband and I were first introduced to the Orbit Baby Stroller by a salesperson because we were looking for a stroller that would be good for tall parents. My husband is 6'7", and I am 6'0". With the exception of the Orbit, we kicked the tires on every other stroller we tested. The Orbit is great because it has 3 handle positions, so both tall and short people can use it. The rear wheels are set far apart, and they are not connected by a bar, which eliminates the kicking problem. The tall handles, wheel position and lack of a connecting bar make it extremely comfortable and easy to push the stroller. Neither my husband nor I have to bend over to push the stroller. I was hesitant to purchase the stroller due to the price, but it was by far the best investment we have made.

Summary: Best stroller for disabled 2008-06-07
Comment: Many of the reviews here are accurate and I won't reiterate, but I thought our application may be helpful for those mothers/fathers who have a problem with one hand.
My wife lost most strength and coordination of one of her arms because of a stroke and we were looking for a stroller/car seat that would be easiest for her to use.
The beauty of Orbit is that my wife can unlatch the car seat from the stroller or car base with just one hand as opposed to all other car seats we looked at which required a squeeze or twist of two handles to unlock. Also, the ability to place the car seat in the car straight in with the baby facing out the passenger door and then swivel into rear facing position is really convenient.
One hand closure of the stroller base is very convenient for me and easy for my wife.
She has trouble tying her shoelaces, but she has no problem with the Orbit!
We've had this system for 7 months and still going strong.

Summary: Orbit Stroller is fabulous 2008-05-22
Comment: The stroller is well built, sturdy and is extremely easy to maneuver. Easy to fold and very compact. Love the removable pod. Great with the toddler car seat. The company customer service is unbeatable.

Summary: Great but not perfect 2008-05-15
Comment: It really is easy to use, but it has its shortcomings although the pros definitely outweigh them.
Biggest pros:
1. SUPER SAFE CAR SEAT. Really. And the only one in which my son looked comfortable as a newborn (no dangling head) and now that he is almost 10 months and close to 22 lbs. Incredibly easy to latch on and off the base, when he was using the bassinet on the stroller I loved being able to turn the car seat sideways to strap him in... and not having to deal with the seatbelt! And it does last for a while, we are still using it and he seems happy and comfortable in it.
2. TRUE ONE-HAND FOLDING. I constantly use the NYC subway (many stations don't have elevators) and I can fold the stroller and go up/down the stairs without ever letting go of my son or having to fuss with diaper bags hanging from the handles. Check the video demonstration on their website.
3. REALLY GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Twice I've had to use it. And both times my e-mails were answered within hours and VERY satisfactorily. Absolutely no-fuss.
4. The toddler car seat allows you to keep the baby REAR-FACING UNTIL she/he reaches 35 LBS.
There are more, but I will run out of space (love that bassinet, the pod and the "paparazzi shield", and I wasn't at all excited about the last two when I bought it but they have proven very useful).
Now with the not-so-great part:
1. I'm not in love with the toddler stroller seat. My son seems to slide sideways no matter how tight the straps are, and since he is close to 22 lbs and able to sit by himself, stand, cruise and seems fairly normal otherwise, I'm not sure it's all him. Maybe he'll grow into it, I don't know, but it is a problem. Also, it reclines at about 130º angle, which is not that bad, but not what I understand as "fully reclining" which is what they advertise.
2. The toddler car seat can only be used with the base until it has to be used forward-facing, that means no turning it on the base to strap baby in. Not the biggest con, but disappointing.
3. The front wheels are VERY hard to remove for travelling (one of ours was broken in our first plane trip) and the wheel removal tool is only sold with a travel bag at $140.

Summary: Not worth the $$ 2008-05-07
Comment: We have had the Orbit System for over a year now. The infant seat was great, but my son grew out of it within 5 months. Now we are using the toddler seat and I am kicking myself that we ever invested in this product. The toddler seat is very bulky, but the seat itself is not very deep so my son is always sliding from side to side. There is no snack tray and if you ask any parent with a toddler this is a must have. Sure they added a removable mesh snack cup, but this is not the same as a snack tray. Also, for a pregnant first time parent going to buy the Orbit, the diaper bag seems like a great feature. It really isn't. In over a year, I have used it maybe twice (and both times were when we were going to a wedding and I didn't want to carry my normal diaper bag). I wish there were an open basket that I could access quickly and easily.
For the first 5 months of using this stroller, I thought it was great. But when you are buying a stroller you want it to last more than 5 months. If I had it to do over again, I would not spend the money. In the end it was not worth it. I am also pregnant again, and the Orbit will not grow with your family. I need a double stroller, and I will not be able to use the infant seat with any other stroller. When I called Orbit about this, they were not helpful.
Do your homework before buying this travel system and save your money. Lesson learned, most expensive doesn't mean it is the best.
