Summary: fatal design flaw 2008-06-20
Comment: This product does keep the stink away, and it's easy to use. But it has what I consider a fatal design flaw. When the bags run out, the last length just slips right out of the holder, and you end up with no bag left in the top part of the genie. If you're not watching, you can easily stick a diaper into the genie without a bag. I go through a lot of bags with my twins, so this has happened on more than one occasion. Really irritating.

Summary: Not very good 2008-06-06
Comment: I dont find it very good because when you put a diaper in it , it opens up and the smell is not covered then....otherwise i have no problems with it... it does not leak smell or anything but while putting a diaper in it it definitely leaks and needs to be improved.

Summary: Simple to use, great odor control 2008-06-03
Comment: My husband and I went to Consumer Reports, read online reviews and went to the store to test the diaper disposal systems before we purchased one. We came down to the Diaper Champ and the Diaper Genie 2 and eventually purchased the Diaper Genie 2. The cons are that you have to buy the Diaper Genie 2 refills instead of just using any plastic bag, but this is far outweighed, in our opinion, by the odor control that the Diaper Genie 2 offers. We have had some very messy diapers, and pushing the diaper through the door to the bag has never been a problem. Changing the bags are easy, and changing the refills are easy too. We have never had a problem with odor. My mom was so impressed by how well it worked at our house that she purchased one to have at her house for when we visit.

Summary: Love It 2008-05-28
Comment: I think this is a great product - I prefer pushing the diapers through the spring loaded door rather than twisting into little dirty-diaper sausage links. I have never noticed a smell when pushing new diapers through.

Summary: Another option 2008-04-26
Comment: I used diaper Genie with my first child. With my second I am using a Simplehuman stainless steel trash can I got at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $25. You can also find them at Target. You can use you grocery bags in it. The lid closes tight enough, and I find it easier to use.
