Summary: Not ideal for sensitive stomachs 2008-03-17
Comment: I bought this prenatal because I love that it is a whole-food vitamin. I don't even mind that you have to take 6 pills a day. What I do mind is that it exacerbates my pre-existing digestive issues.
I stopped taking the Raibow Light vitamins and have since switched to New Chapter Organics. Their prenatal contains probiotics (like acidophilus) that help digestion rather than cause it to act up. I have had no issues since the switch. If you have a sensitive stomach (think IBS), you may want to consider New Chapter Organics.

Summary: BEST PRENATAL I'VE FOUND 2008-02-26
Comment: Rainbow Light's Complete Prenatal System is the best prenatal I have found. I am pretty picky when it comes to quality vitamins, and having the proper dosage, and this particular one satisfies me, esp since it's food based. Not only does it have a few "extras" in it (L. sporogenes - a probiotic - and more), I actually like that it takes 6 tablets to get a full serving so I can break it up throughout the day (your body can only process so much of certain vitamins at a time). I already eat very healthy, but I wanted a good vitamin as an extra cushion. I only take half the dose (3/day) and take one with each of 3 main meals (it also saves on the cost). The first day I actually felt better (I've been very tired and stressed lately). I am AMAZED!! They have not caused any side effects either (i.e. no constipation, etc). I wholeheartedly recommend these!!

Summary: THE BEST Prenatal Vitamin Available 2007-07-18
Comment: With my first pregnancy, I tried just about every prenatal vitamin on the market. Everything made me sick. Even half a pill. Even with a full meal. Even at night. I tried everything and it still came right back up. So I quit taking vitamins!
With my second pregnancy (twins), I knew couldn't possibly survive without a supplement. Sicker than ever (I swear everything was ten times worse), I stumbled upon the Rainbow Light Complete Food-Based Prenatal System and let me tell you it was a life saver! It NEVER ever makes me sick (I still take it since I'm nursing the twins now).
If you have a problem with the idea of swallowing six pills a day, think of it this way: you are actually consuming nutrition your body will absorb and use. Regular commercial vitamin supplements are nearly entirely indigestible by your body (they pass through mostly whole) and on top of that are made up of chemicals your body can't use. If we are so used to taking medication and will take pain killers whenever we feel like it, why can't we take these healthy vitamins?
What I did that made me feel the best was I took two vitamins with breakfast, two with lunch, and two with dinner. They are GREAT, they actually gave me ENERGY (when I skipped/forgot I couldn't manage even the easiest of days) and I highly recommend them!

Summary: great product 2007-07-03
Comment: I took these throughout my pregnancy with my healthy son (now 2) and have already started taking them with my current pregnancy.
6 pills, sure, but I never once got sick from them. I've heard stories from friends who had to take their prenatal at night or it made them sick. I'd rather take 6 (I split them up over the day...3 in the morning, 3 at night... or else 2 at each meal) and feel fantastic! :)

Summary: 6 Tablets a day! 2007-06-26
Comment: Before you buy, make sure you realize that with the "complete prenatal system" you are supposed to take 6 tablets a day, in order to get all the RDA of the vitamins and stuff. I didn't realize that when I ordered, and I probably won't order again for that reason (I'm going to go with the Rainbow Light Just Once prenatal). BUT, if you are okay with taking that many vitamins a day, and it isn't a nuisance, this system is great, and I believe it helped the swelling in my feet and toes too. They didn't bother my stomach at all, or give me heartburn. Expensive, but a really great brand that can be trusted.
