The MAM UltiVent widemouth bottle system is designed to be as close to breast-feeding as possible in a reusable bottle. The orthodontic nipple is made of ultra soft silicone and encourages baby to use a natural suckling action similar to breast-feeding. Summary: Great Bottle & BPA Free 2008-07-02
Comment: My son is breastfed, but we wanted to get him used to bottles so that he could be fed while I was away.
We started him out using the Platex Ventaire bottles. He took to them very quickly, however they contain BPA. Sassy Mam is one of the few wide mouthed bottles that we found that is BPA free. We ordered a package of them to try them out. Our son liked this bottle even more than the Ventaire bottles.
~ He liked the nipple. It has a wider shape than other nipples, more like mother's breast.
~ It has the vent system, however our son gets a little more gas than he did with the Ventaire. That's probably because it's a straight bottle and not bent like the Ventaire. We just have to burp him a little more often.
~ Cleaning is easy, just use soap and water like you would with any other bottle. It does have a few more parts than a regular bottle, however if you are already used to the Ventaire system there is no difference.
~ It's BPA free!!! We really liked this aspect of it.
For us, the positives definately out weighed the negatives. This bottle works great for our family.

Summary: what a mess! 2008-06-20
Comment: These bottles are just horrible, they leak like crazy, you have to be very careful when puttingit together, and as you can imagine is quite difficult with a hungry baby crying for food. I like the nipple, but the bottle is impossible for me to figure it out, 75% of teh time they leak. Waste of money.

Summary: Not Right For Us 2008-05-27
Comment: These bottles had great reviews when we began looking for BPA free bottles. They are very cute, easy to hold and easy to clean (we were use to all the parts with Dr. Brown bottles).Unfortunately they just weren't right for us. My baby had a hard time with the nipples (it's a very unusual shape)and lost patience before finishing the bottle. I think this bottle is good for breast fed babies, as they have to work to get the milk like with a breast. I really wanted to like these bottles, but ended up switching to Playtex Drop Ins.

Summary: BPA Free, Many Parts, Son had Difficulty Using 2008-05-21
Comment: GREAT that these are among the few bottles that are BPA Free! However, my son was unable to figure out how to use the unique nipples. Maybe we didn't try long enough. There are 5 pieces to each bottle to be cleaned (same, though, w/Born Free bottles which we now use) - if you don't get plastic liner in bottom tightly, these will leak.
