Product Description
The Sassy Smiley Face Rattle stimulates development of interacting and feeling skills between baby and parents, family members and caregivers when they play with the rattle together. These first social relationships are very important in developing a sense of trust, security and comfort. Babies react to faces by the age of 2 to 3 months, so the bright yellow face on the rattle and baby's own face in the mirror will interest and delight even young babies. Sassy's Smiley Face Rattle has dancing eyes, a nose that beeps, a broad grin and rattling beads that invite interaction. A mirror on the back helps develop baby self-awareness. Age: Birth + Editorial Review
A wonderful new spin on a classic idea, the Smiley Face rattle is a 5-inch diameter yellow disk with a big smile, orange cheeks, and black beads that roll around in two clear "eyes." Give it a shake and baby is treated to rattling sound effects provided by smaller beads trickling down two enclosed curved channels at top and bottom. Poke Smiley's red nose and get a cheeky little beep. Smiley's ears are the handles, and the back is a mirror. This rattle is sure to be well loved and much chewed on. Winner of the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Best Toy Award. --Richard Farr

Summary: Read the fine print 2008-07-25
Comment: This is a super cute toy but I am not happy about it being made in China. I believe that Amazon should start listing the country of origin for products on the information screen. It would be very helpful to buyers that this matters to who can not read the packaging when making an online purchase. If you are OK with your baby putting this in its mouth, then go ahead and buy it, otherwise you might want to go somewhere where you can find out where your baby products are made.

Summary: not as fun as it looks 2001-05-11
Comment: This rattle is a little awkward to hold and is too big and hard for younger babies. It also takes on quite a bit of water when washed. The nose does not beep easily and my infant gives it up rather quickly. She does however enjoy chewing on it.

Summary: Cute especially for younger babies! 2001-04-04
Comment: This toy is very cute, it has two handles for little hands to grasp, a mirror on one side and on the other the smiley face! the face has wiggly eyes and a nose to beep. but the nose can be frusterating for babies as my 18month old son still has a hard time beeping it! my all in all a cute, durable toy!!

Summary: It keeps baby's attention! 2000-12-06
Comment: I bought this because of the mirror, wonderfully bright colors and ease of holding onto (for little hands). It will keep my 7 month old's attention for a good while. She started playing with it at around 4 mos. of age. She bangs it around, drops it... and it's still in great shape. This toy is a must!

Summary: The toy that babies choose 2000-11-22
Comment: To be honest, I thought this rattle was kind of scary looking. But I was in the store with my 3 month old son, and I held up a bunch of different choices for him - this was the one that he responded to everytime. It's guaranteed to get a smile out of him! He finds it utterly fascinating, especially when I squeak the nose.
