Summary: Great Baby Gadget! 2008-08-23
Comment: This prenatal heartbeat monitor is really cool. Around 24 weeks we were able to hear a fairly clear heartbeat, record it, and post it online on our baby blog for other family and friends to hear too. The heartbeat is often hard to capture because the baby moves around frequently. Don't worry if you don't get a clear heartbeat every time. Still, it's fun and a great way for mom and dad to bond with the unborn baby. Definitley worth $20.

Summary: All that I could ask for at this price... 2008-08-12
Comment: I miscarried my first and am a little anxious about this pregnancy so I bought this monitor to reassure myself. I'm 20 weeks pregnant, so I'm a little early for their recommendations, but I am already very pleased. I wasn't able to hear the baby's heartbeat, but the kicks came through loud and clear. I was able to hear them as I was feeling them and the sound quality was great - no static until my husband insisted on holding it down with his hand! Even if I never hear the heartbeat on this monitor, hearing those little kicks was a real treat. They are still so gentle that I miss them frequently. For $20 this is a great product.
Update: I heard the heartbeat today! Switching out the earbuds that came with it for some higher quality headphones made all the difference in the world. As I said before, I am only 20 weeks but was able to hear the heart beat clearly when I was still long enough for the other noise to fade out. I was even able to count the beats to verify that it was in the range the midwife has been getting which means it actually was the baby's hearbeat and not mine! So once again...go ahead and spend $20, but add some better headphones!

Summary: A waste of money 2008-04-26
Comment: I got this product earlier in my pregnancy to subside some of the anxious feelings I was having. But I still found myself checking in with my nurse every two weeks to listen to my baby. In the beginning I was a little dissapointed but figures at 10 weeks maybe the device wasn't able to pick her heart beat up. But now I am 24 weeks and the products instructions said it was supposed to be easier to hear her now. and still I got nothing. A waste of maney!

Summary: Not effective! 2008-01-30
Comment: I was given this device by a colleague who said that it didn't work for her, but it might for me. I initially listened around 20 weeks with no luck other than some very loud noises anytime I moved or accidentally even brushed any part of the device. I have periodically tried it with no success. AT this point I'm almost 35 weeks pregnant and have yet to hear anything-not even my own heartbeat! Normally I like to write good reviews, but I am having trouble thinking of a single positive thing to say about this product.
