Summary: Surprisingly Clear 2005-06-18
Comment: I was actually shocked that not only did this monitor work outside of my condo, two floors up, but it continued to work as my husband and I walked two more apartment buildings down! The base was underground, and it still managed to keep a clear signal. I am very impressed. I haven't used it in the shower yet, but it does come with a hanger for in-shower use. I am sure it will work great for all those times I need to hear my baby boy while I am trying to get clean!

Summary: Great Monitor !!! 2004-09-02
Comment: I bought this monitor and was very suprised !! Reception is crystal clear and have not had a problem with it. I had previously purchased the Fisher-Price Sounds & Lights and those were just terrible.I had pretty much given up on having monitors in the nursery but decided to buy these after reading the reviews . GREAT BUY !!! Trust me even in the shower you get the crystal clear reception. I strongly recommend these.

Summary: great product 2004-05-21
Comment: I have an extensive wireless network at home, running 2.4ghz and 900mhz waves and this product does not interfere whatsoever. I was shocked. My wife came home with it and I immediately told her return it, it is 900mhz, our cordless phone is going to interfere with it. The older baby monitors worked on an even lower frequency, I think 54mhz. But I decided, what the heck, try it out. No static anywhere. I am running a wireless network, with wireless video camera, wireless laptop, cordless phone, I am just surprised it does not interfere. Not only that, but it is very sensitive to noises. I can hear the smallest sounds, it's great. I even take it with me in the shower, imagine that, I was thrilled. This product is up there on my list of great baby products along with my BabyBjorn carrier. Totally worth 50 bucks, I mean it even comes with rechargeable batteries. Oh, and yeah it has a viewable scale if you want to turn the sound off. If the need arises, you don't even need this thing to have sound, just turn off the sound and look at the visible meter. If my daughter cries, it totally shows it. I can finally go to my backyard while she is napping and do whatever, I feel like I have a life again, great product.

Summary: Why is it so hard to make a decent monitor? 2004-02-21
Comment: We have been through several monitors in the past 4 1/2 years and most of them have been pretty dissapointing. This one has a lot of things going for it, but it is going back to Target tomorrow.
The good: The rugged construction, the size and weight, the styling, the idea that it is built to take some abuse.
The bad: it makes a REALLY loud beep when press the button that adjust the volume, turn it on or off or change the channels. What is wrong with thumbwheel like on almost every other monitor out there?
The sound quality is poor, very muddy. We like to be able to hear if our daughter is asleep or still working on it, and with this monitor, you really had to crank it up (with the attendent increase in background noise) to do so.
The beeping controls are the real deal breaker for us. We use our monitors primarily at night (duh), and sometimes only one of us is awake and listening to the monitor. If we have it on low, so we don't get blasted if there is a cry, and then turn it up, it is "BEEP, BEEP"! Surely loud enough to wake the other partner.
Oh well, we bought a Phillips monitor from target.com, and on the second night, so far so good.

Comment: The monitor was quiet and did not have a buzzing sound as others I used have. Our babies voice and noises were very clear. I highly recommend this monitor. Especially for new mom's like myself as I could even here my daughter breathe.
