Customer Rating: Summary: Oil free.. but NOT oil controlling 2008-08-17 Comment: I love this product because its easy to apply, and it matches my skin tone almost perfectly. Its great to have a make-up that I can throw on my face and go without the need for pressed powder... but wait... after a an hour of flawless beauty, the EL foundation takes a horrible turn for the worse. I have oily, acne-prone skin and this foundation is horrible for my skin type. It looks great at first and then it becomes cakey and streaky as I wear it throughout the day. The foundation sinks into my pours making them appear bigger than they are without make up and the rest of my face SHINES in the worst way.
I could not figure out why this happened from a "oil-free" foundation and then it hit me - oil free does NOT mean oil control. The make up does not ADD oil to the face but also does nothing to CONTROL the oil you may naturally produce.
So what does this all mean? This product is not very good in my opinion for oily skin types. If oily skin is not a problem for you, then I say go for it because it is easy to apply and does give off a natural finish.
If you are like me and have oily skin, I've heard some wonderful things about the Clinique line. I recently got a make over from the sales associates at a local dept. store and I am happy to report little shine at the end of an 80 degree summer day.
