Product Description
Put a nickel in the jukebox, assuming you can locate a jukebox, and that you remember what a nickel is. Here's legendary Beach Boy Brian Wilson singing lead and 10-part harmonies on "Speed Turtle." The incomparable Neil Sedaka crooning "Your Nose." B. B. King brings you a wistful "One Shoe Blues," Gerry and the Pacemakers offer "Mersey Lullaby," and relative newcomer (in this seasoned company) Patti LuPone of "Evita" fame sings—what else—the "Rabbit Tango." And then there's the hit single from Boynton's Your Personal Penguin sung by the impossibly cute Davy Jones of The Monkees. I mean jeepers, even Sha Na Na is here. So roll over, Beethoven—and Lieber and Stoller. Boynton & Ford once again bring great words, great music, great performers to children and vintage children alike. And OH! The book! Boynton has filled it with all things 50s and 60s. And, well, golly, it’s so happy and colorful and just terrific, Mister! Grab your saddle shoes, plunk two straws into that swell chocolate malt, and let's twist again like we did last century.

Summary: Another great one from Boynton 2008-10-09
Comment: I purchased this for 2 of my great grandchildren. I bought it just because Boynton's name was one it. They had loved other books of hers. I walked in the other night and the girls were playing it and loving it. I recommend it to all my grandparent friends to give to their little ones.

Summary: Blue Moo 2008-10-03
Comment: We love Blue Moo. My only problem with Amazon is that I wanted to order 6 copies for my grandchildren and it would only let me get one at a time. I felt ripped off a little because of the shipping charges - that would mean I would have to pay it 6 times. So, I am looking into what it would cost at Chapters so I can get the other 5 copies at one time.

Summary: Great listening for all ages! 2008-09-03
Comment: Although I purchased this for my 9 year old daughter who loves the song sung by Davey Jones, "Personal Penguin," everyone loved the music. The 65 year-old-grandparents, the fifty-something neighbors, and the twenty-something babysitter were all listening to it and picking personal favorites. This is something for the whole family to enjoy.

Summary: Stunning! A Work of Art! 2008-08-25
Comment: I used to think Boynton's books were "cute." Now, I am absolutely awe-struck with her talent and genius. Boynton and Ford wrote all of the songs and had some of the best musical artists of all time sing this amazing collection. I bought it for my 4-year-old, but fell in love with it myself. Endearing and brilliant artists such as Neil Sedaka, Davy Jones, BB King and Brian Wilson perform on this CD. What an amazing accomplishment! The songs are genius and they sound like they were written and arranged by the artists who perform them. One of my favorites is the Gorilla Song, by Sha Na Na. This is the best "children's" work we've found... and I listen to it even when my kids aren't around. The book is funny, quirky and off-beat with all the adorable Boynton characters you'd expect! Highly recommended!!
