Comment: Although I got this DVD set from another location, I loved the show. I watched the Mario Brothers Super Show a lot when I was a kid, so this set pretty much took me down memory lane. If you grew up during the time when this was on the air and enjoy the various Mario Bros. games, get this DVD and get ready for some nolstalgia

Summary: The best part about this show was the live action bits... the animated bits? Not so much 2009-11-10
Comment: I watched the Super Mario Bros super show faithfully in 1988 when it first came on. I watched it every day of the week. I enjoyed this show, but the fact is that in hindsight, this show was actually terrible. The live action bits were actually kind of cool. The animation was good... sometimes, but the stories, titles and scripts were absolutely stupid. Everytime there was a joke in the script, it completely fell flat because every single one was somehow related to pasta. It is clear that there was barely any effort put into the writing of the super mario super show at all. It's as if the show was saying "Wouldn't you rather go play Nintendo right now?". Yeah, that's about it. Much like The Wizard, this movie was a cheap cash-in for Nintendo.

Comment: You can read my volume 1 review, same idea. But I also wanted to mention that given the time, the cartoon series is based off of the first two super mario games in terms of background music, action sequences, and enemies.

Comment: I've always loved the Super Mario Bros. Super Show, and I'm glad I can get it on DVD. I'm glad they put the whole episode on instead of cutting them up. Great quality, and the extras are pretty neat, too!
