Summary: Can't get any better for any cheaper! 2009-02-18
Comment: I got the X-530's as a christmas present. they're absolutely amazing! we had them plugged into the tv and everything sounded great. Once i got them back to my dorm room and hooked them up to my computer, things just got better! Great sound from all the speakers, solid bass from the big sub. the sub can be heard all the way at the opposite end of the hall! my roommate and i watch movies/tv shows at night and i have to almost turn the sub off because even at 1/3 the way up it vibrates the bed when a cars on screen! my only suggestion is that the front 2 speakers could have a tad more treble. oh well, thats what i have my philips hooked up along with it :)

Summary: pretty awesome system 2009-01-25
Comment: i bought my system from walmart for the same price and i really didnt think it was going to be overwhelming and it wasnt but.... its perfect for someone who wants to listen to their music on their computer or ipod and have great bass and another good application for it is gaming, i play a few games and it does sound pretty good, one thing that really is a downside is that you need a sound card with surround sound capabilities and i think most motherboards come with integrated surround sound audio on them but im using my laptop so i can only use the sub and two channels. One thing that i really dont like about the sub is that it bottoms out at about 75% volume with bass all the way up when they say that it doesnt, but you can buy a tang band 5 inch sub and put in there that is made for high excursion and it will rock your room
so yeah if you have the money buy it but if you have a bit more get the logitech z-4 or somethin

Comment: Love these speakers! The wires are a little short, so expect to spend about $15 more at Radio Shack buying RCA wire extensions - anyone can figure out how to add these onto the wires.
Since these speakers plug directly into your computer, MAKE SURE that you have a "sound card" with 3 outs (generally "Speak 1", "Speak 2", and "sub" or "center" or "Speak 3"). Without this, you can either:
1) buy a 3-to-1 3.5mm adapter and plug all the wires into your 1 output - this will make all speakers output the same sound, though
or
2) buy a USB external 5.1 sound card - works very nicely
or
3) buy a sound card for your desktop - if you know what this means, I don't need to explain. But if you are not a computer person, chose 2) preferably, or 1).
Sound is very clear, though, no problems at all. Base is very loud, and travels FAR, especially in dorm rooms :) I actually leave my base all the way down, and I am one of "those" people that just love lots of base.

Comment: This is my second Logitech Surround Sound System and it is awesome! Very loud very high quality sound. All aspects are adjustable and sound great!
