Summary: A must have! 2008-10-10
Comment: Forget about the gizmos that come with your unit to attach it to your car....they don't: A) make the Novi portable B) Look good. They also scream to anyone lurking that you have a portable GPS, might invite a break-in!
I bought this for portability reasons. It works perfectly, stays right where you put it, yet it is easy to remove to put it all out of sight. I plan to buy my kids Nuvis for Christmas, this will be definitely included.

Comment: I bought this to soft mount my c550 Garmin and works great! I have a truck so a pretty large dash and clearance under the windshield. Not sure if dash space would be an issue otherwise.

Summary: Garmin should include this as standard accessory .. 2008-10-09
Comment: I recently purchased a Garmin Nuvi 660 and looking at the reviews on Amazon decided ahead of time that I need to purchase this bean bag. I have been able to sucessfully mount the Garmin and it has held it's position. Very easy to remove the GPS and hide this when parked in public place. I think Garmin should make this as a standard accessory. Also I live in CA, where state laws do not allow mounting GPS on the windshield using suction cup.

Summary: Best solution that I've found 2008-10-09
Comment: I first tried 2 suction cup mounts and one of the air-vent mounts before I tried the friction dashboard mount. This is the only one that I will be keeping, because it's the only one that works. I've used it on the dash of my Honda Civic and Dodge Durango, and it never budged in either of them. With sharp turns and bumpy roads (and off-road), it stayed put.
