Summary: Lumbar support broken, over and over and over 2008-03-07
Comment: I requested an ergonomic chair from my company as I developed a back problem after sitting in their incredibly cheap, crummy default desk chairs. After quibbling over it for a week and requiring a doctor's note, they provided me with an Aeron chair. It is reasonably comfortable, however after about two months the lumbar support ripped apart. I'm 6'2" and 195, not a weight that should be excessive for a well-designed chair. I requested, and got, a replacement lumbar support, assuming that the original one had been either defective or subject to too much wear and tear before it came to me. After two months, that one also ripped apart. The construction of the lumbar support is, frankly, cheap. Within a few weeks of getting the new lumbar support I noticed it began to tear at the sides. The chair without the lumbar support is virtually useless. It provides almost no support for your lower back at all, which is the whole point. Don't waste your money on this company's products.

Summary: An excellent product with an excellent warranty 2007-06-01
Comment: I am HARD on chairs--6.2, 245 pounds. I've been sitting in my Aeron chair for at least four years, almost every day, for long periods of time. I also zoom across the room to another computer ocasionally--but don't broadcast that. I've have had a problem with the pedestal of the chair--it seemed to be rocking a bit. The good news is the chair is under warranty! You call the local rep and they come and fix it--or, as in the second episode, replace it with a refurbished chair. My gosh, how do you beat that? YOU GET A TOP-END CHAIR FOR UNDER $800 WITH A GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL LAST 12 YEARS! How many retailer chairs will you buy in 12 years. Geesh, I sound like an Aeron commercial. (I bought it direct from Herman Miller so I cannot vouch for this vendor.)

Summary: Great Chair 2007-05-27
Comment: I have lower back problems due to scoliosis, and I recently was diagnosed with some arthritis in my neck. That being said, sitting in a chair for 9+ hours a day is pretty rough. I switched to a Aeron at work about six months ago and it has made a huge difference! Sure, I still have some stiffness here and there, but the way it holds your posture and evenly distributes weight really helps me out.
It seems to be very well made, and I have not had any problems with any of the adjustable parts.
It is pricey, but well worth it, in my opinion.

Summary: Excellent product if fitted properly.... 2007-03-15
Comment: I have had an Aeron chair for many years. I was fairly careful to size it properly and set it up as I wanted. When I bought it, I figured that my body was worth the price averaged over ten years. Simply in terms of adjustability this chair provides a solution to nagging problems. I use it at a computer for many hours a day and have no complaints. The Posturefit was not available when I bought mine, but I do have the lumbar support and adjustable armrests. I spent some significant time setting it up for me and it has paid off. I especially like the tilt limiter. Buying a cheap chair every year for $50 is not really a bargain. This chair is excellent value to me.

Summary: Non-Ergonomic. 2006-08-27
Comment: Plain and Simple, this chair is NON-Ergonomic. The last time I used mine, my upper and lower back seized up and I was in bed for 3 days. If you have any issues with your back, then forget about this chair and look into the Bodybilt chair by Ergogenesis.
I have heard countless people on-line telling about how their Aeron chairs have broke and or have worn out their clothes. Do your research.
I would give this chair 5 Stars for it's styling. It is quite beautiful, and is easy to operate. Otherwise as far as I'm concerned, it is useless. Shop around and try as many chairs out as you can if this is all you can afford, because there are chairs allot more comfortable and cheaper out there. Otherwise take a Bodybilt for a test ride for a few days, which lots of their sales Reps encourage, but make sure it is specked out properly for you or you will not enjoy it.
Please do yourself a favour and don't blindly read the other 5 Star ratings of this chair. I know that there is a bit of Stigma behind owning an Aeron, but there are chairs that are so much better out there.
