Summary: Good for temporary use 2010-07-23
Comment: If you're looking for a pair of speaker stands that will get the job done adequately for a year or two (you rent an apartment or are in college maybe), these will get the job done. However, if you would like to make a longer term investment in your audio equipment, these are probably not the right stands. I found the construction quality (wafer wood) to be adequate at best and the plastic cone pieces at the base are difficult to stabilize the speaker with. I would not use these with bookshelves with anything larger than a 4.5 to 5.25 inch woofers.
Mediocre item but good value for short-term use.

Summary: Good value, decent quality 2010-07-13
Comment: Purchased these stands to support book shelf speakers and they work great. I especialy like the spiks on the bottom that keep the stand raised off the carpet. Assembly was easy and took about 10 minutes with a power drill for the screws.

Summary: Solid well built and perfect for the price 2010-06-24
Comment: I was very happy with this stand. It was solid, and the matt black colour suits most decore. My speakers have a base size of 22cm wide and 28cm long (they are tear drop shaped with flat front and back- measuring 22cm across the curve of the tear). They weigh about 5kg each and this stand is sufficient to hold the weight and give stability (they are 35cam high).

One issue I have seen from other reviews is that the stand "legs" between the base and platform for the speaker can start to split when the self taping screws are tightened. This only happends if the screw is not located correctly in the pre-drilled pilot hole. So if it starts to split reverse the screw out and try to relocate the hole. Assembly wasn't too difficult.

Summary: Good stands for the money 2010-06-18
Comment: I picked up 6 of these stands for a 7.1 setup. I've got Polk audio satellites on the stands, and they fit well without any concerns. The stands have a nice appearance, and hide the speaker wire amazing well. As others have noted, the particle board is extremely thin, so you have to be very very careful during installation to avoid breaking / cracking them. I ended up with 3 hairline cracks out of 6 stands just because one of the 4 screws wasn't perfectly lined up. It's minor and not noticeable, but is worth mentioning. I can't say I'm surprised given the price.

Summary: Nice Stands 2010-05-14
Comment: These speaker stands provided exactly what I was looking for - a sturdy stand to lift my speakers off the floor. They are easy to assemble and look nice next to the black TV and black TV stand. They are constructed from a MDF material not natural wood. Be careful when assembling because do to the nature of MDF you can split the piece where you screw the top or bottom plates to the vertical stands pieces. Do not over tighten. I have a set of Boston Acoustics CS26B Bookshelf Speakers and at first I thought that they might be too large. However, once the stands were put together (this took about 10 minutes per stand) and placed the speakers on top and placed them next to my TV I was thrilled with the look. I also bought some double stick pads and put one in each corner of the top plate of the stand then press the speaker into place for some added security. I was concerned that the vibrations from the speakers would cause the speakers to "walk" of the stands. They have been in place now for three weeks and they are performing exactly as I had hoped. I am extremely happy with this purchase.
