This Bayou Classic Gas Burner features 13 inch tall heavy duty steel frame, 16 x 16 (inches) large cooking surface, 6 inch cast iron fry burner, 10 PSI adjustable regulator and 36 inch stainless braided hose. Accommodates any size stockpot. For use with Propane gas only.

Cooking for a big crowd requires a big pot, and a big pot needs a stove like this one. Intended only for outdoor use, the popular Bayou Classic patio stove features a generous 16-by-16-inch-square cooking surface that can hold up to a monster 120-quart pot. The height is kept short, 13 inches, to minimize the possibility of knocking a pot over and to make it easy to lift heavy, oversized pots. Because of the significant gap across the 5-1/2-inch burner ring, a pot should measure a minimum of ten inches in diameter for use with this stove, unless a wire grill is placed on top. Made of heavy-duty stainless steel, the stove frame is one welded unit for strength and portability. Included is a UL-listed 48-inch hose with valve assembly and 20 PSI regulator. Two rings of flame allow the stove to adjust from a simmer to quite powerful heat. Care should be taken when deep frying that the oil not exceed 450 degrees F. All Bayou Classic stoves are designed for use with 20-pound LP gas cylinders (not included), and work great for camping, hunting, and fishing trips, as well as backyard and tailgate parties. Comment: I own this item - bought it from a local home-brew store to make beer. I think it's well constructed, works extremely well and is a good value for the money. (See my comments on the 1-star review debunking some of the negative comments.)

Summary: Poor Designed Product. Dont buy. 2007-07-25
Comment: Do not be fooled by stainless steel frame. If you are buying a stove for outdoor use, this product isnt it for you. The burner is a poor designed cast iron with some silver colored paint. It has already rusted and will not last. So what the stainless steel frame for if its parts rust?
Plus, the burner is only secured by one single screw. It rotates and tilts. If I would design this product, I would use brass. The burner should be secured on all three legs on a stainless steel plates which itself has to have at least three screws on the frame. The frame will need another Y shaped under bar to firm up the burner mounting.
Dont think Bayou Classic have any good engineer. They should be removed from Amazon's vendor list if they do not improve.
I am surprised Amazon markets such a poor product.

Summary: the best turkey fryer i've found so far 2005-03-19
Comment: This is one of the best turkey fryer burners around. The burner is heavy duty and puts out a powerful even flame like some expensive kitchen stoves. This is what makes this an excellent fryer. All of the other fryers have weak, small and poorly designed burners.
