Summary: buyer beware of return policy 2007-04-25
Comment: Please read Builder Depot return policy. These owls look like Halloween decorations and are not very attractive but probably work well. They look garish in a nice yard but in order for the consumer to discover this the package must be opened. The return policy not only has a 15% restocking fee but the package must be UNOPENED for credit to occur.

Summary: Prowler Owl works very well. 2006-11-04
Comment: Bought a Prowler Owl last year to protect a house which had about a hundred woodpecker holes in the siding. Siding was patched and painted, and we installed a Prowler Owl on a 7 foot piece of 1/2" galvanized electrical tubing, braced with guy wire to the house for stability.
A year later, not one hole, no signs of woodpeckers, and the owl is in perfect condition after going through a cold, icy and snowy winter.
Bottom line - it works fine. I'll raise the rating to 5 stars after we have passed another year of success.
