Summary: Perfect when needed 2008-06-27
Comment: This is perfect for deadheading roses and other spent blossoms. Generally easy to use, but the locking mechanism can be annoying, especially with gloves on.

Summary: My favorite light pruning tool 2008-05-05
Comment: When I've had a garden in the past, my Gerber Daisies and Geraniums did not bloom as much as other people's did. I believed that it was a function of better soil, light, food, etc. I now know that it was because I did not trim the spent flowers aggressively. I found that my regular pruning shears tended to take off more than 1 stem. When I tried to pull out the dead blooms, I would often take off more than the dead flower unless the stem was dry & brown.

I now take my micro-tip pruning snippers with me whenever I check out my flower beds. It fits easily in my pocket, and I can just snip any dead blooms I see. My geraniums are flourishing. People comment on them whenever they pass by, and they can't believe that the plants are only about 2 months old.

Summary: Best little cutters 2008-03-10
Comment: I use a lot of Fiskars gardening tools and these are the best small pruners I have found. My last pair lasted over 3 years.

Customer Rating: 5 Star
Summary: Great pruning snips for herb gardens. 2008-02-09
Comment: I ordered these pruning snips to use with my herb garden based on the small size of the cutting tip and the price.

Pros:
1. Small cutting tip works great for getting in between different plants.
2. Small size is comfortable in hand.
3. Symmetrical, so it doesn't matter which way you pick it up to use.
4. Well placed and easy to use switch - accessible from both sides.
5. Spring loaded.
6. Safety cap easy to put on/take off.

Cons:
None yet.

Periodically add a light coat of oil to the cutting tip to keep rust from forming. I have not seen any rust on my snips, but a little preventive maintenance is always good. Since I use my snips for herbs, I use vegetable oil.

Summary: Great Snip 2008-02-08
Comment: The Fiskars Micro-tip pruner is super for "buds off" when too many on peach limb, great for the apples they bud in groups of 5 and for snipping
veggies and herbs...
