Summary: Gentle on roofing. 2010-03-21
Comment: The nylon rollers supplied with the rake eliminate the metal edge from coming in direct contact with your roofing material. That means every time you pull the rake you are not scraping the aggregate off of your shingles. Losing the aggregate can shorten the life of your roof prematurely. Plus standing on the ground is much safer than climbing a ladder or trying to stay on a slippery roof to shovel. Just be sure you stay away from electrical lines you don't want to prove Ben Franklin's experiment. You are handeling a rake with a metal handle not a kite and string.

Summary: Welcome help with Roof Jams 2010-03-16
Comment: Good product that had an extensive reach to the gutters on a high roof. The extended time we had snow & ice needed this rake. Pleased with the performance.

Summary: Aluminum Snow roof rake 2010-03-10
Comment: This product actually works well. I used it after the blizzard of 2010 in the DC area. I used it after I already had ice dams on my roof more than a week after the 2 snow storms were over. It was very effective at getting the dampened snow off my roof. Of course it doesn' cut through ice dams. . I didn't notice damage to my shingles with using this product. The rake didn't fall apart either, it held up under the weight of the snow I was pulling. Be prepared to shovel all that snow that you pull down off your roof! I have a rambler so I didn't have to use all of the pole attachments. The rake handle has some flexibility to it when extended with the extra lengths of poles. Assembly was not hard either, the directions were easy to follow. I recommend it especially if you have an older home or one that doesn't have proper air sealing and insulation in the attic.

Summary: This thing moves the snow!!! 2010-03-08
Comment: Went out today to use this for the first time. The snow is extremely wet and HEAVY. Taking less than an hour to clear 10" of wet snow from a 24'x48'foot building. I was able to reach all I needed to and still had an extension left. Using one section of scaffold I was able to get my line of sight just right and comfortably work. I recommend this item.

Summary: Works Great! 2010-02-26
Comment: Like others have said, do yourself a favor and replace the hardware before using. After that is taken care of, it works awesome and is a breeze to use, especially with the rollers. I would have given 5 stars except for the shoddy hardware.
