Summary: gag gift 2008-05-11
Comment: My buddy's been packing this for a while and the standard joke is, when someone comments on the funny little hatchet he yells "YOU MAKIN' FUN OF MY HATCHET!" and pulls the knife from the handle and waves it menacingly. The rest of the joke is when you try to chop wood with it. The head is pretty heavy to make up for a lack of momentum with that short handle but it still falls far short of a standard hatchet and I estimate its chopping effectiveness is at most 1/3 of a full size hatchet. Maybe it'd be useful for butchering game and fish but if you need to do regular hatchet stuff get a regular hatchet.

Summary: Nice little combo here... 2007-12-27
Comment: The knife slides inside the shaft of the axe which is great. It locks in with magnetism. It's a great little back pack axe and both hold a really nice edge. I walked around the woods all hunting season and never lost the knife. The gator grip makes it 100% better when conditions are wet.
