Many modern homes have up-to-date clocks or mini weather stations that depend on radio-transmitted data to stay calibrated and current. The La Crosse TX6U works outdoors by sensing temperature and transmitting that information to an indoor station. It can transmit to a base up to 80 feet away. The TX6U can be added to augment information coming to La Crosse units already in operation. Remove batteries from base units first and activate sensors; then replace batteries in base units and press no buttons until a display appears. Multiple sensors can be assigned a number so that it will be clear which information from which sensor is displayed. The TX6U operates on two AA batteries. Its housing is made of durable, neutral-tone plastic. The sensor works with all La Crosse weather clocks and stations except the Professional Weather Center Series: WS-2010, WS-2210, WS-2310, WS-2315 and WS-2510. For options in wall mounting, two screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included. The TX6U measures 5-1/2 by 1-1/2 by 1 inch. La Crosse provides a one-year limited warranty on its sensors. Each sensor comes with a detailed instruction sheet. --Garland Withers

Summary: Great replacement 2008-06-05
Comment: This is the identical unit that came with the clock. Works as advertised. Just be sure to screw mount the clip-in housing, instead of using the band-aid like double stick tape that comes with it. It fell off in three days and it hadn't even rained.

Summary: Does the job mostly 2008-05-24
Comment: I've had La Crosse temperature sensors @ both my houses, in Michigan & New Mexico. The outdoor sensors can't survive flooding; other than that, they work fine, altho not forever. The New Mexico one just died after 5 years; the Michigan one disappeared for a while & when it came back, it was off by about 10 degrees. Weird.

Summary: Simple Remote Temperature Sensor 2008-03-10
Comment: Hooking up the remote sensor to my la crosse atomic projection clock was very simple. I just took out the batteries reset the clock with the sensor beside it and they found each other immediately. My only complaint is the sensor constantly reads about 8 degrees warmer than all my other thermometers. Overall it was a great product for the price. Just wish it was a little more accurite.

Comment: I ordered these and found the remote sensors extremely inaccurate. Sitting on the table, I had 3 of them by the way, and all three were 3 degrees different from each other. Not 10ths, degrees. Not only that, when compared to a Davis (certified unit), they were off by yet another 3 degrees. Company does not have a good quality control. Go with Oregon Scientific, those are a lot more accurate. Sorry La Crosse, you do not cut the mustard. And the transmitters seem to step all over each other, all 3 blanked out for half a day, then came back. You can not select the channel like you can Oregon Scientific units. Try and figure out which one is which.
