Summary: Great Clock, Work as Designed 2008-06-19
Comment: I do not understand why this clock got poor reviews. This is a great clock, and has been working reliably for three years. The setup is easy, and there is not much maintenance except replacing the batteries every few months, which is pretty good. Thinking to buy a second one.

Comment: It's an astounding looking clock and when it works, it's quite the conversation piece. But initial startup and replacing batteries requires a careful and specific procedure and if the clock is not placed exactly right to receive WWV, you'll have to give it another try. It takes 15 minutes of off time for replacing any or all of the 5 batteries required, then if your WWV signal is weak, you may not get a lock and will have to go through the procedure again. Note that you cannot use rechargeable batteries also. If you are just after the outdoor temperature, there are better setups, so shop around. If you are just after the large numerals, I'd recommend the Acu-Rite... it knows what time it is without connecting to WWV and has batteries that last about 5 years that hold the setting... also compensates for daylight savings automagically.

Summary: Never accurate; now useless 2007-07-07
Comment: I've had this clock for a little over a year. Its temperature and humidity displays were never accurate. Its redeeming feature was its large time display I could read without glasses. Now, the clock will no longer set itself. The large display is still distinct, but the necessity to reset the clock manually reduces its value to that of a normal clock. I only use atomic clocks, so this is of no value to me now.

Summary: Two thumbs up! 2007-05-04
Comment: I received the La Crosse Digital Atomic Clock as a gift three years ago. I really like it! The instrument has been precise and is easy to calibrate. The outdoor sensor must be placed in a reasonable location in order for it to measure temperature accurately, i.e. not directly in the sun. The text size is large enough that one can read the clock at a distance, although not obnoxiously oversized. The brushed aluminum framing sets off the clock with a clean, contemporary design. And, the clock can be displayed anywhere in a room since it is battery operated.
