Summary: Buyers Beware 2008-07-30
Comment: Buyers Beware
I ordered this item and received it (Signature Required) Filled it with gas and oil as described in the manual! It took 20 min to start it! After cutting for a 1/2 hour the mower quit, it has no compression and will not start at all. I called AOL. to file a compliant, here is their response.
Thanks for contacting us at Amazon.com.
I apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced with this lawn
mower.
We're sorry, but due to safety reasons, we cannot accept the return of
any hazardous materials--these include items that are gas-powered, use
propane or natural gas, or include a magnet--at any of our fulfillment
centers. The risk of accident is simply too great.
If the lawn mower needs to be serviced or replaced, we recommend that
you work with a local authorized dealer or contact the manufacturer
directly:
Lawn-Boy
This is completely unacceptable. The mower is brand new and now I am suppose to make arrangements to get it fixed or replaced when under any other circumstances this would has been swapped out for a new one or I would have received my money back! Now I am stuck with a $500.00 peace of junk. I am really disappointed with AOL and Lawn-Boy!!!

Summary: Do yourself a favor...Don't buy 2008-07-13
Comment: I've used the mower three times. I'm done with it. When it first arrived the mulching plug was not the right size. I had to call to get a new one sent to me. The first time I used it, no problem - it ran fine. The second and third times, it took me about 40 pulls to get it to start. Now, it doesn't start at all. Save your $500 and go with another manufacturer. I now have to go through the headache of getting it serviced and God knows what this will entail. The irony is I just gave away a 14 year old mower that started on the first pull every time. Newer isn't always better when Lawn Boy is involved.

Summary: Good Mower 2008-07-13
Comment: Bought this mower partially because the string on my 8 year old Craftsman broke, and partially because my 8 year old son could not push the Craftsman.
I wanted to get a mower with front casters to make turning easy, but that drove the cost up significantly. This one advertised easy turn front wheels. I'm not sure whether the curve of the front wheels make it easy to turn or the overall balance of the mower, but it does turn fairly easy.
I'm also impressed with the self propelled system. I like the way it speeds up as I speed up, but allows me to cut slowly around tight spots as needed.
The only cons I have so far are that the mower is not the best of mulchers with the stock blade. I'm hoping it gets better when I get a mulching blade. I'm also not impressed with the back flap. It tends to fold up under the mower when you back up.
All in all though, I'm quite happy with the mower and would definitely recommend one to a friend.

Summary: piece of junk 2008-07-09
Comment: bought this lawn mower june 08 it sputters spurts backfires and barely runs drinks gas like a tank. I purchased this mower because I was tired of working on my old one all the time. I've spent more time working on this one than I've spent mowing grass. guess the Honda engine was not the best choice. wish I would have bought local then I could get my money back. live and learn

Summary: This mower is fantastic! 2008-06-09
Comment: I love this mower. My lawn looks like carpet. The Sens-a Speed control is easy to get used to...I never even had self-propelled before! And the Blade Control system is great for when you have to pick something up, open a gate, or move lawn furniture. I couldn't be happier with my choice.
