Summary: good sprayer 2008-08-02
Comment: I have been using this to spray fertilizer on all my plants and fruits (foliar feed) 3-4 gallons once a week for a couple of months. The pumping action is good although it loses pressure quickly so you have to keep at it, but it's not tiring. It could deliver a very strong spray at the highest pressure, more powerful than the 1 gallon handheld sprayers so it gets the job done quicker, plus need to refill every gallon now.
I looked at the solo sprayers some of them do not look like rebuild is easy or even possible. This stanley made by chaplin has all parts you can order for repair and is all listed in the manual.
The only mishap that caused a 4 star instead of 5 is that there was a leak by the hose one day, the hose clamp is plastic and cheap, even when tightened fully it leaked, down the back of my legs! Good thing I was only using harmless organic liquid and not pesticide.. I found a metal screw drive hose clamp in my parts bin and it has been working perfectly. I suggest anyone who buy this to replace the clamp like I do to prevent this problem.

Summary: Excellent Product! 2008-07-23
Comment: Glad I bought this sprayer instead of some of the others I had looked at. The pump handle is metal, not plastic, the spray pattern can be varied depending on product/area to be sprayed, comfortable. Very easy to load. An excellent value!

Summary: Works well except for what appear to be manufacturing flaws 2008-07-07
Comment: I purchased this Stanley backpack weed sprayer and have sprayed 6 gallons worth of RoundUp with it. I really like it overall, although I agree it feels a bit awkward when you are wearing it. Not uncomfortable, just awkward. I am having two other problems. First there is a very loud and high whining or moaning sound coming from inside the tank. It sounds like it is coming from inside the pressure vessel. The problem is that I like to spray early in the morning since there is less wind then. My house is close enough to my neighbors that I had to stop becuase I was afraid I would wake them up or bother them. The other problem I had was that there was a substantial mechanical 'glitch' as the pump handle is raised. It is smooth throughout the rest of the cycle but as it is raised there is a hitch and a knock that comes from inside the unit. I talked with the company today and they said that this is a new sprayer and that neither the sound or the mechanical 'glitch' was normal and to return the unit and try a new one. I'll update this review once the new one comes.
