Summary: Great product for the price! 2008-06-16
Comment: Great patio umbrella, especially for the price! I was looking for a thicker, canvas fabric which apparently isn't used as much anymore since I haven't been able to find it in the stores locally and this is exactly what I was looking for! The pully system is easy to use and quick too - for those windy times when you need to drop it quickly! You do have to 'wrap' the rope around the top to keep it from hanging down, but that's not a problem! Love it and hightly recommend it!

Comment: The umbrella arrived on-time and was good value for the $40 I spent. Shipping was a little steep, but the umbrella was inexpensive to balance it out.

Summary: Great Umbrella 2008-06-01
Comment: I had hunted locally for a replacement umbrella to use in our back yard concrete table, but all were cheaply made,extremely expensive or both. After reading the reviews on this umbrella and checking the type of material it was made of, I decided to take a chance. What a good decision it was !! This umbrella is not only well made and attractive, but a great bargain for the price.

Summary: Very attractive yet not the sturdiest 2008-05-29
Comment: The canvas seems to be very good quality, at least as compared to other umbrellas I saw at local garden/patio centers. The color is beautiful and exactly as depicted, but the pole does not seem like real wood at all. It also has a wider than normal brass fitting were the poles come together (twist on). The pin tends to slide out by itself, but it is nothing that cannot be remedied. However, for the price this item overall seems like a pretty good deal. I guess time will tell.

Summary: OK for short term usage 2008-05-23
Comment: Purchased this umbrella last year and loved it.
When we got it out this year, the material started splitting at the spines when we opened it up. Now as you look up thru the umbrella from underneath, you can see where the material has thinned considerably at many of the spines and has completely split at others. It was stored in doors during the winter, so it wasn't a harsh winter that did it. I just think that this is probably intended to be a short term umbrella.
