Customer Rating: Summary: For the Birds 2008-07-15 Comment: This is a case where "for the birds" means something good. My wife and I have been feeding birds in our back yard for about two years. We started using Valley Splendor when the cost of sunflower hearts started to go out of sight at our local supplier. Cost have increased dramatically across the board. Using Valley Splendor from Amazon allows us to continue our feeding program. The quality of the product is excellent, far superior to the product we were using, and with free shipping from Amazon it contains the cost. Valley Splendor Sunflower Hearts and Chips (20 lbs)

Customer Rating: Summary: Sunflower Hearts for Birds 2008-05-29 Comment: Great product at a great price! Pure sunflower hearts and cheaper than any other source I tried, both locally and online. I used whole sunflower seeds one winter and found 4" of hulls in the yard the next spring. Using just hearts avoids this. All birds like them. We counted 27 different species feeding here this year.

Customer Rating: Summary: Sunflower meats (hearts) - Bird Food 2008-03-02 Comment: Sunflower meats arrived within 5 or 6 days of ordering. Birds seem to love this product - as much as what we usually purchase at the local bird store. We were happy that 40 lb. seed amount came in two-twenty pound bags, so that we did not have to open 40 lb. all at the same time. The two bags are better for storage.

Customer Rating: Summary: Great seed and good value - no waste 2008-02-22 Comment: I used to buy some mixed seed from local grocery store and managed to get a fair number of birds and also a large amount of seed hulls on the floor of my deck as the birds ate from the feeder that hangs over my deck. I saw this seed on Amazon and thought I would give it a try.
I have been attracting many more birds and also (most interestingly) a larger variety of birds. Despite the increase in business, I don't seem to be filling my feeder as much, as there simply more food and less (if any) waste product in a given volume of the hulled seeds. My deck is much cleaner now.
Amazon's price seems as good as any I have seen and even beats my local shops. I really love feeding the birds and the bit of extra money I spend for this food has the nice payoff of giving me a much richer and more entertaining "bird show."
Like other reviewers, I am happy but (more importantly) so are the birds!
