Summary: Great solution 2008-08-20
Comment: After finding the mousy evidence under the kitchen sink, we purchased this device. I was skeptical, but two days later the culprit was captured and killed. This is a much improved, less disgusting solution to traditional traps. Sorry, mouse, but you don't belong in the house!

Summary: Sensational 2008-08-15
Comment: Three weeks of glue traps had me nearly suicidal - the mouse wouldn't go near them. The snap traps were too small, this mouse was bigger than they were.

I bought this electronic trap at night, baited it before bed with pizza inside and a cheeto in the doorway (I live in NYC - that peanut butter business doesn't work with NYC mice...but I knew he liked Cheetos since he had eaten half a bag while I was at work, and pizza is one of their favorite foods), and by morning there was a tail hanging out.

I will say that the light was not blinking like it said it would be, but it killed it and there was a tail hanging out, so I'm not complaining.

Originally I didn't buy the electronic trap because of the price tag - but in the end, if I'd bought it FIRST, I'd have saved myself like $60 in other traps and food I had to throw out (not to mention pain and suffering). WELL WORTH IT - and reusable.

Summary: This is the only thing that worked for me 2008-07-29
Comment: I moved into my tenement apartment several months ago, and since then have been battling mice. This electric mouse trap is the only thing that works. The mice i have are too small or nimble to set off my snap traps, they just lick the peanut butter clean off. However every morning it never fails that i find a dead mouse in this electric trap. Just open the lid and dump it in the trash, then it is good to go again. The only bummer is i have to buy more of these because even this one is licked clean in the morning from other mice climbing over the dead one to get at the bait.

Summary: for a mouse problem 2008-07-29
Comment: I live in philadelphia and when the weather is cold or it's raining, or anything, the mice come into my apartment. Usually only two or three, but when my fraternity was making candy roses out of hershey kisses, my roommate dropped a bag of hershey kisses behind my shelf and the mice really liked it. (I kinda hated it, because the shelf is bolted to the ground, so it was difficult to clean up) ... anyhow, the most effective mouse trap ever (better thant eh sticky stuff, because even though that stuff doesn't kill them, it leaves them on there and they squeal and and cry, and if you don't hear it or notice it, it dies stuck to the pad- death by starvation is not humane no matter what your intentions are.) Anyway, the lights to indicate catching a mouse and the no mess factor make it just an incredible deal. And i bought mine from rite aid (across the st from my apartment) so it was much more than 16 and some change. Seriously, beside my barn cat at home in the country, this is the best mouse-catcher that exists.

Summary: Great Idea, Almost Great Execution 2008-07-14
Comment: I never had mice in a house before but recently discovered that I had at least a few of the critters hanging around in my garage. I have been told by exterminators that the snap traps with peanut butter are the best for catching mice but I like the idea of a trap that my son or dogs can't injure themselves in if they stumble across it.

I set this trap out with peanut butter smeared on the inside back wall and within 2 days it had caught a fairly large mouse. Disposing of it was a snap, I simply tipped it into a bag and threw it my trash bin. No blood, no mess and no horrifying my wife with having to look at a dead mouse carcass in a trap.

The only inconvenience with this trap is that you will need to clean the peanut butter out and replace before any mold sets in. It's not the easiest thing to clean although that is largely due to the texture of peanut butter and not necessarily the design of this trap. Perhaps I am being a bit too thorough when I do clean it out but it takes a few minutes to remove all of the old PB off the wall and from the crevices on the inside of the device. Overall though, I highly recommend.
