Summary: Nightmare On WORX Street! 2008-09-25
Comment: I ordered the WORX WG250 cordless hedge trimmer from Amazon on July 24, 2008. When the unit arrived and we assembled it according to their video and written instructions, it did not work, no whir, no click, no hum, nothing. I immediately called WORX and after holding for 30 minutes was informed that I needed to provide evidence that my purchase was legitimate. I faxed the invoice and packing slip from Amazon to the specified number and was told that after doing so I would receive a new unit in "7-10 business days". After that time had elapsed and I still had received no trimmer I called WORX again and spoke to "John, a manager". He asked what exactly it was that I was calling about and then informed me that they had no record of ever having talked to me but he would look into it. Several days elapsed with no response so I called again and spoke to a nice young woman, Olga, who told me that they had had a bad batch of battery chargers and they would send me a new one and yes she did see my original complaint. I received the charger 2 weeks later, after calling one more time. The batteries, I had ordered an extra one with the original order, charged but did not work. I called WORX back to tell them their solution was bogus and "Arnold" blamed me for not charging the batteries correctly. (I do know male from female after 60 years!) I told him this and he told me they could either send me a (1) replacement battery or a new hedge trimmer but not both. I opted for the trimmer since I already had (2) batteries that weren't working in the unit. After another "7-10 business days" I received a reconditioned cordless GRASS TRIMMER AND EDGER. I'm serious. I called WORX again and spoke to "Gemini" (I'm not kidding.) He hurriedly informed me that that was what I was supposed to receive; I calmly informed him that a grass trimmer was NOT a hedge trimmer. "No that is what you were supposed to get." "No, Gemini, I was to receive a replacement HEDGE trimmer." "OK OK, I will send you another one and issue a pickup for the incorrect item." Another 2 weeks passed and I had heard nothing nor received anything from WORX. A very pleasant young woman, Xenia, (I'm not kidding), informed me that nothing had happened in response to my previous call and that she would issue a call tag for the grass trimmer and when they received that they would then send my hedge trimmer. I calmly told her they had inconvenienced me for 6 weeks and I still had no hedge trimmer and that I was told that one would be shipped at the same time the aforementioned call tag was issued. She said that she would issue a call tag. "Will you be sending out the hedge trimmer today then." "No, we have to receive the incorrect item before we can do that." I explained that this was clearly unacceptable and would further inconvenience someone who had been nothing if not kind and patient. She then lied to me and said she would send the hedge trimmer right out. After the requisite "7-10 business days" passed and I had received the call tag and returned the grass trimmer, I called WORX to see whether my hedge trimmer had been shipped. Kim, a very pleasant young woman with a normal name, informed me that they were waiting to receive the grass trimmer. I asked her to please send my hedge trimmer by express delivery to compensate me for my considerable pain. "We don't have the capability to accomplish that." "Then please refund my money." "I'm sorry, Sir, we can't do that since you didn't purchase the item directly from WORX." I said, "Very well then at least send me a new unit instead of a reconditioned one this time." "Oh everything we ship is new, Sir." I called Amazon customer service and they were kind enough to arrange a conference call to WORX. Pursuant to that call, I expect to receive a reconditioned trimmer in "7-10 business days". I will be faxing this little treatise to WORX and expect, as usual, to hear NOTHING from them until I call them again in "7-10 business days". I am extremely angry despite my latest contact with a pleasant individual at WORX. It is my intention to report them to the California and North Carolina Better Business Bureau.

Summary: Worx doesn't work as stated 2008-08-28
Comment: I was excited to receive my rechargeable trimmer. However, on a full charge it didn't last more than 15-20 minutes. It's ok for small jobs but if you have a lot of trimming you would be better off with a power cord version.

Summary: Amazing Worx cordless hedger 2008-07-02
Comment: This is truly a great product. The only downside is that it comes requiring some assembling of the handle and if you tighten it too much the hedger won't work. I originally thought I received a bad unit as I could not get it to turn on after connecting the handle. Thankfully, after re-assembling the handle piece I got it to start. I and am absolutely in awe of its power, precision, running time, and just the overall lightweight cordless design. I did 1 1/2 hours of trimming one day until my arms ached and the battery still hadn't lost its charge. I highly recommend this over Black and Decker. Its a cordless hedger like no other.

Comment: The hedger works great on small branches but do not try it on the larger ones. I really like not having to try to pull start or pull a cord around so this hedger is for me.
