Summary: Just Right 2006-04-20
Comment: This chocolate is a staple at our house; we eat it every day. We've sampled two different high quality chocolate bars with 85% cocoa solids and found them a bit too bitter and chalky. On the other hand, bars with less than 73-77% cocoa solids now are too sweet for our taste. Like the little bear's porridge, 77% is just right. If you're used to chocolate with substantially less cocoa solids than this, I suggest you try one level stronger and see if you like it. Keep ratcheting up the cocoa solids, slowly, until you find your ideal level. If your "chocolate tooth" is causing you to eat too many empty calories, you may find that less than 100 calories of this chocolate--if sucked rather than chewed--will completely satisfy your daily chocolate urge.
Addendum 9/22/07: I've discovered an 85% cocoa solids bar I can recommend: Lindt Excellence 85% Cocoa. Creamier than others of this ilk; my new favorite.

Comment: For those of you who have sampled what seems now to be the endless array of exotic specialty, homegrown, and overseas import chocolate bars filling our grocery isles, look no further! chocolove 77% ultra dark chocolate is the ultimate chocolate lover's experience...if eating this doesn't give you a 'chocogasm', then you either suffer from ageusia or are lying very still some 6 feet under. in addition to being delicious, subtle, and sublime, the bars are healthy relative to most american-made brands offering all the essential antioxidants and flavanoids. keep in mind that to get the best health benefits from chocolate, it is best to eat dark chocolate with a cocoa content of 70% or more. chocolove offers more than that along with the best taste on the market. enjoy! 5 stars without hesitation.
