Product Description
Barley is a chewy grain similar to wheat. This hardy grain dates back to the Stone Age and is used in dishes ranging from cereals to breads to soups and stews. Hulled barley (also called whole grain) has only the outer husk removed and is the most nutritious form of the grain. Pearled barley has also had the bran removed and has been steamed and polished. It comes in three sizes -- coarse, medium and fine -- and is good in soups and stews. Substitute whole barley for brown rice and pearled barley for white rice in any rice dish.Store barley in a cool, dry area in a sealed glass or plastic container, away from air, moisture, and sunlight, which can make the oils go rancid.Kosher Parve
