This is a unique marmalade that is made from strikingly beautiful ruby red Sicilian blood red oranges. A seasonal delight, it is only made in January after the Blood Red Orange harvest in December. Besides the traditional uses of marmalade, try this in grilling sauces -- the flavor pairs nicely with balsamic or red wine vinegars, onions and garlic, reminiscent of a classic winter salad of blood red oranges, rings of sliced red onion and a little oil and vinegar.
Customer Rating: Summary: Blood Red Orange Marmalade - Siciliano 2008-07-09 Comment: Love this! It is sweet but not too much and has the real fruit flavor. Not like most American Jams and Jellies that are more sweet. It is great on toast, bagels or whatever you care to use it on. You don't need to use a lot because of the real flavor that comes through so a jar, at least for me, lasts awhile. Blood Red Orange is a different orange flavor than what we are used to here in the states. I find it very good and refreshing. The juice is very good too.
