Product Description
Packet-Mix Sachet of Butter Chicken Mix. The whole idea of this packet-mix is that you just add chicken (optionally one may add button mushrooms and peas) and water into a pot with the packet-mix and let it simmer on the stove until it's done! Fast food in an instant! Do not add anything else. This mix contains oil and salt too. Best served with basmati rice (our Royal Basmati Rice in our Easy Cooking/Meal Makers section would be a great choice) or flat breads or with French baguettes or with any whole grain sourdough breads. Please refer to our recipe on our website as the recipe on the package is not upto our standards, although the product is very good. This is a Chicken recipe from North India. The curry is rich in taste and is accentuated with cardamom, nutmeg and saffron. Butter Chicken is served at most formal ocassions in India.

Summary: Very nice 2008-07-23
Comment: Loved it. You only need three ingredients to make Butter Chicken with this mix sachet -- the contents of the package, water, and chicken. It doesn't get any easier than that. I cooked it with the pressure cooker method. The package calls for cooking for "two whistles" -- I have a typical American pressure cooker that doesn't whistle, but I managed to figure it out anyway. It turned out great.
It has a mild-medium spice level which was perfect for us.
I'll buy it again for sure.
